Original Request: Has anyone here read the book "Regina's Song" by David and Leigh Eddings? The book's mainly focused around a pair of identical twin sisters. It has some interesting theories/descriptions of the way twins function together - and I'd kind of like to see them applied to the North American Twins.

The book goes claims that identical twins share a pluralistic, rather then an individual, personality. The twins in the book would frequently exchange identities and places with one another to the extent that they were a single individual for all intents and purposes. Two sets of hands, two bodies - a single personality, or at least one so intertwined with each other that there was no discernible line separating the two. I don't know how accurate this was supposed to be, but it made for an interesting book.

Anyway, I'd like to see something like this applied to Alfred and Matthew. Yes, I know that there are a large number of historical/social conflicts; this is fiction. We can do anything! The way I figure it, Alfred and Matthew have exchanged roles and identities so many times they no longer remember who's who. Was it really Alfred facing Arthur across that rainy field so long ago? Was Matthew the one who burned down Washington DC? They don't know. And they don't really mind. Two sets of hands, two bodies, two lives - but only one of THEM.

Bonus: This is the REAL reason Kumajiro keeps asking Canada 'Who?'

Summary: They are thought to be two separate entities, when they share one soul.
