As suggested, this thread is for discussing official updates of any kind. It was created so that we can write our reactions and theories as soon as possible after an updates appears, without having to wait until it is translated or posted separately

In the current official setting, who calls France, the world’s big brother, “big brother”, “brother” or “big bro” and actually means it?

Right now I think Monaco and Italy do, but there are probably others as well.

Hmm... I wonder who these characters are? Seychelles and Canada come to mind for me. The latter seems to be really common in fanworks so it'd be interesting if we got official confirmation on this. In the old Gakuen Hetalia games, France was said to have raised Seychelles so I wouldn't be surprised she did call him that as well.

Edit: I forgot to mention I passed the word through Tumblr via hetaliaarchives (both Andy (FH14/barjonabombers) and I run the blog) so hopefully we'll get some more activity going here. I also passed on the info regarding this entry as well so we can get some ideas flowing again. The old community has become very nostalgic recently on Tumblr but it will be

I don't know if Canada would call France "big brother" because I think if he did that, he might feel like he's favoring France over England. But other than that, I agree that it would make sense.

Sadly, I believe Canada just called him "Mr. France" in a Birz comic. Not like that's going to stop me from pretending Canada calls him something more familiar though XD

Russia in a cardigan is beaaaaauutttiiiiffffullll, as is Hungary in that little capelet coat.

Also I was wondering what was going on with the China/America strip. Glad to know America makes popcorn the fancy way. I have so many questions about that update - especially with why England was watching that film in the first place.

And I like how he acknowledged the whole confusion over Cleopatra's ancestry. This was 2000+ years ago so maybe we'll never know for sure. The amount of research he puts in to the littlest things really makes me happy!

The popcorn thing actually seems odd to me - didn't America just recently crack up laughing when he saw England preparing it that way? I wonder what happened in the meantime to convince him of this technique.

Also, big brother France + little sister Monaco really needs more love. I really like the idea of a charmer like France actually being an embarassing parent/brother/rival (in England's case)/what-have-you XD

Maybe it's because Monaco doesn't appear very often. I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of her and her relationship with other chzaracters.

Some people were wondering what Romano was thinking. I think he's noticing the height differences between himself and Spain. He's still brooding about it. lol
I love how Spain just happily gazes at Romano with his ":D ?" face. Ah, my shippy feels.... So cute!

Hungary is so gorgeous~! She's always looks so sophisticated and beautiful, but it's funny when contrasted with fujoshi antics and how much she would battle as a kid.

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's the height thing. Although he really should know better than this... if he's going to compare himself with everyone he knows, he'll just end up frustrated. ^^
