So I know earth logic cannot possibly be applied to Hetalia in some aspects. Yet every time I read the strips, I wonder how is everyone able to talk to each other?

ESPECIALLY when I seen bits like in France's character introduction that says he loves himself so much he won't learn English. Yet how is he able to talk to America and England (who certainly wouldn't speak French for his benefit)?

SO EXPLAIN TO ME ANON! Really, how the hell is everyone able to communicate with each other (plot-point logic aside)?

Or do they not and lost-in-translation hijinks are abound?

"Don't be scared. It is fine." The french was spoken perfectly and the voice was calm and reassuring, but the dark skinned girl still backed away.

"No!" She backed away from the two countries, she couldn't believe they were going to do this to her! "I won't!" She stumbled backwards desperately, and shouted the words in English for extra measure, "I won't let you!"

The other country stalked forwards irritably. It seemed that Arthur wasn't in the mood to be nearly as forgiving as Francis. He glared at her with vibrant green eyes, the...thing still in his hands, "Stop being such a petulant child, Seychelles." Even though she kept shaking her head violently the small man didn't stop, his gigantic eyebrows furrowing together in annoyance, "You're the one who said you wanted to be a full fledged country. It's not all rainbows and butterflies, sometimes we make sacrifices."

"He is right, my dear." Francis smiled comfortingly at her from behind the Englishman, "And this is necessary. You wouldn't believe how many wars we averted once I ( ... )

Author fails! Arthur shouldn't have asked what she said...I'm sorry! I forgot! Just pretend that...err...that part didn't happen or that in Hetalia!verse both parties require a babel fish in order to know what the other is saying.

Sorry!

Oh, wow! OP heartily approves of the reference and this great little fic! So here's some hearts: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

And: You wouldn't believe how many wars we averted once I could actually understand Arthur and Antonio.

Pfft, like you guys didn't get into enough wars with each other anyway. :D (Ha, or were those wars cause by the lack of communication?)

And I feel for you Seychelles. I wouldn't want it in my ear either but I would be sorely tempted.

...all of a sudden, I want to see France and England get into a war with each other because they can't quite understand their language and then have sex.

Yay for Babel Fish! Not every day you find a creature that provides free translations *and* final and clinching proof of the non-existence of God XD Though I'd imagine it would feel kind of weird actually having it go in your ear ^^;;

America and China were 'discussing' economy loudly at one end of the table, while Hungary sat between them with a frozen smile on her face. The way she was stabbing her salmon looked especially worrysome to Germany and he was just considering whether to interfer or not when his lady at the table coughed politely ( ... )

Germany nodded, pleased that she had guessed it. "Yes. We are not children of men, after all, and so the newborn nations were not affected when the tower fell. Though the name of the language itself was lost over time ( ... )

THIS. IS. WIN.

I swear I've never loved France as much as I do after reading this. XD Also, "Germany took a sip of wine and tried to remember how Prussia had explained it. Then he tried to forget all the cussing that had been involved in that explanation." is absolute love. You couldn't have pegged down their personalities any better (and the thought of Germany chucking a glass at France made me giggle like a doofus). Thank you for such a wonderful fill!
