Canada - Dealing with USUK anonymous June 14 2012, 16:00:04 UTC
So it's this anon's feeling that Canada is pretty much the world's biggest USUK shipper (he just isn't crazy like we are), because he had to spend years listening to them both going on about each other, knowing they were in love but wanting to wait and let them figure it out themselves, without his help. And once they got together he was really happy for them, and is their biggest support.

I'd like to see what it's like for him talking to each of them before they get together, and how he feels watching them be adorable together later.

Bonus: Some nice father-son affection between England and Canada.
Bonus 2: He indulges America's gushing until it starts heading in a sexual direction and then he freaks out over the mental images he really doesn't want.
Bonus 3: Venting his frustration to France.

This anon is very interested in filling this! It may take a couple days, but I shall totally give this a shot.

This is above!anon, and I know this might be a derp question, but I'd rather be safe than get it horribly wrong. By talk about, do you want America and England to complain about each other to Canada before coming around to the conclusion that they like each other. Or, do you want America and England manly!gushing to Canada about how the other doesn't notice their obvious (read: alittletoosubtle) attempts to woo them?

Oh definitely the second one! All the gushing! Manly!gushing is good, but it can even get embarrassingly girly (especially on Alfred's part) if you want!

Thanks so much for your interest! *sets up camp excitedly*

This is anon's first ever fill on the meme, so she hopes she is doing this right. This is the beginning (which is a little serious), but it will definitely get more lighthearted when the actual conversations begin. After months of being ignored and forgotten, there was something beautiful--and at the same time horrible-- in being remembered. After centuries of this treatment, he perhaps should have been used to it, but it still stung. Each time, he'd scold himself for letting others jerk his feelings around so easily, but the starving ache that filled a hollow place in Canada's chest was one he had never found a way to ignore or get rid of altogether ( ... )

America’s visits had started with asking advice for small things - “Prussia keeps traipsing around like he single-handedly got me independence - I’m thankful, but goodness gracious,” and “I’m half-afraid to go to Georgia because Spain keeps eyeing me in a way I don’t like” - that eventually evolved into bigger problems. England’s first conversation with Canada where the latter felt like an equal instead of a colony was right after the American Revolution. England had knocked on his door and after trying to initiate a greeting had just started crying and re-telling the entire tornado of his feelings for the past three decades in a half-sobbed ramble that was heartbreaking just to listen to. It was the first time Canada felt anger towards America, and as he burned down the White House decades later Canada would remember the feeling of holding England and trying to make him stop crying--he never really forgot how sweet that revenge was. (That’s passive-aggression for you ( ... )

And would you look at that, already title failing.

Canada had nodded shakily at England’s response and chosen not to say anything. He knew that the truly wonderful thing was that their relationship was so painfully obvious to the rest of the world that there wasn’t much of a chance of another country actively pursuing one of them. This had persuaded Canada not to just come out and tell the two of them they should get over their insecurities and tell the other how they felt. (There was also the fact that America made him partake in a very, very elaborate mix between a pinky promise and a blood oath to never tell England his feelings. In addition, England made him vow in front of a faerie ring to never speak of his affections without express permission.) Another, more romantic reason, was that inevitably it would be much, much sweeter to see the two of them get together on their own. It was the kind of thing Hollywood loved and the hopeless romantic in England secretly wished for. It was certainly happening, if Canada was any judge ( ... )

Not!OP.

I laughed out loud for several parts of this, and I distinctly remember melting a bit at "Not the forced happiness America tried to enwrap himself in when the world got a little too cruel, but complete happiness that would fill the void that fueled his desire to be a hero." I just love that characterization for America. ♥

And I just can't wait to see more of this, to see when that UST/UET (E for Emotional) gets worked out. :)

Seconding the sentiments above!

Also the "very, very elaborate mix between a pinky promise and a blood oath" line is perfect. Absolutely perfect.

F5ing for the next part!

Anon has been researching declassified diplomatic papers and it's hilarious how much it reminds one of silly Hetalia ship fic when the American diplomats call up the Canadian diplomats to bitch about the UK.

Oh Anon! If it weren't for a few lines at the beginning (all of which are perfectly fine by the way), I would have thought I wrote this myself! It's PERFECT, and EXACTLY what I wanted, and afjdfhdjfbhdjdchsbj I love you so much. Thank you for this! I love it! Can't wait for the next part!

(And omg do I see implications of Franada??? I'm serious about thinking I wrote this)

Wow... Just... I've already melted into a pile of USUK and Canada-loving fangirl mush here.

India may have been the jewel in Victoria’s crown, but America was the centerpiece of England’s heart, and 236 years hadn’t changed that fact.

There's just something very, very heartwarming about that, I couldn't help but "Awww..." at it. You have a way for writing that's just so heartfelt. Yet, at the same time, you manage to make this funny as it was intended to with the situation and I think I lost count of what made me laugh in this fic so far. Gotta love this part very much though:

All the two of them had to do was confess, and a couple that had been going strong in the race for The Longest Continuous Stream of Unresolved Sexual Tension would finally be able to overcome their pasts and cement their Special Relationship.

QUOTED FOR TRUTH. \o/

Author!anon, consider yourself with one happy camper!anon here eagerly awaiting for the continuation of this fic.

Keep up the good work!
