USxUK, angst and fluff

Arthur mentioned enduring a broken heart for 100 years during the 2007 Bloodbath. He mentions it again during yet another drunken tirade, but this time Alfred overhears. Hoping for a healthy mix of angst and fluff to ensue.

I know, i'm evil, aren't I? :DDD
(But I AM Alfredian American--SO OF COURSE IT'LL BE A HAPPY ENDING :D )
Oh, yes, he's only like that when drunk--he's still very much in control of his emotions when sober (except maybe when France and America are involved...)
I CAN WRITE BETTER THAN A STUPID ALBINO WHALE! DDD:
I am glad I was not alive in the 70s. So, so glad.....
Lol that was pretty much stream of consciousness writing, actually...As i've said before, France and England's relationship is complicated....
I wonder how many people will be scrolling back up when they read this to try and figure out what we're talking about?

The morning found America sneaking around in a place he hadn't been for a long, long time-the library.
It was eerily quiet, the only sounds echoing through the massive building were the padded footsteps of the dozen or so other patrons on this floor and the arrhythmic turning of pages. Some might have found the near-quiet and dim, musty room soothing, but not America-he much preferred the lullaby of cars honking and people chattering and voices rising and the sounds of thriving life. Silence unnerved him. Nature wasn't quiet, and neither were cities-but death, death was quiet

But, he hadn't, so he was stuck looking through row after row of dull-sounding titles, the name and number of the book he was seeking written in a sloppy scrawl on the piece of paper he had clutched in his hand. It had been forever since he'd done this--he would always just buy the books he wanted and, more recently, just get the digital editions. Libraries were great and all, and he was happy he had so many for his people to enjoy, but...it really wasn't his thing. It was more England's, actually, which made him randomly think that the man would probably approve of what he was doing right now. (He'd approve of America's methods, that is, not his mission--England would probably have a conniption fit if he knew what America was up to

Sealand burst into a fit of laughter. "Oh, man, did you see the look on his face?! That was so cool~!"
Wy sighed. Why did she hang out with these morons again? "Why did we do this, again?"
Seborga shrugged. "I don't know-a, Ladonia wanted to come..." The group looked over to the tiny web-based nation, who was cackling evilly behind a shelf and muttering to himself.
"Hehehe....that's what you get for doubting the internet, bastard!" They all came to an unspoken agreement to ignore him at the moment.
"I still don't understand why we couldn't have just jumped the fucker," Molossia hissed as he removed the tiny speakers from where they'd been strategically taped along the underside of the shelves. He flipped off the air. "I hate that guy!"
Seborga tilted his head to the side. "But...aren't you an American micronation?" Molossia snapped his head to the side.
"No, I'm my own nation, dumbass! That prick just won't recognize me!" Sealand sighed, giving a comforting pat onto Molossia's shoulder

Five double-shot frappuccinos, a purchase of "British History for Dummies", and several hours of skimming later, and America finally had his list of suspects.
And it was really fucking long.
Well, okay, so maybe a list of nine different nations wasn't that long, but that was only after he had ruled out a huge portion of the names! He'd gone through the book the first time and just written down every nation mentioned--which seemed like half the world. (The guy had an....well, an Empire's worth of colonies, as it turned out, way more than America ever knew about

Yeah, I actually had quite a bit of fun doing this chapter...or rather, this chapter had quite a bit of fun curbstomping me into writing it 0_0....I didn't intend to write half the things that showed up here, but, that's just kind of how it works for me--I start typing and words come out--I'm not always in control.....

Okay, I am not a new reader (as I have been reading since you started the fill), but I am a new commenter. Sorry that I haven't "spoken up" before now. I couldn't hold back any longer, though.
I'd just like to say that I love this fill oh so much. You are doing a great job with America's character and that's pretty important for this kind of fill; keep up the good work. I actually did like the humorous escapade and torture of America of the micro-nations, that was a rather neat idea. Poor America. At the same time I am laughing so hard at his obliviousness I feel so incredibly sorry for the poor guy. I mean really. He's got a lot of (unnecessary) work ahead of him.

lol don't worry about it! Better late than never, after all, and....I have a tendency to lurk on fics as well, so don't feel too bad...;u;
Good, good! I was hoping people wouldn't be TOO "WTF?" and walk away from this....but sometimes I just can't help myself from stuffing humor into my writing....
I feel pretty confident now for writing America (thanks for all the praise, people, srsly!) Characterization is very important to me, and i'm glad it apparently shows. Now I just have to work on England
Yes, America has his work cut out for him....is it wrong that I enjoy putting my own country through the wringer so much?

Amazing update A!A :) I loved the micronation's cameo, and how America is so focused in his mission while being completely clueless about the identity of the 'culprit' he's looking for :D I'm so looking forward to the big revelation. Oh and Tony is always made of win XD
