US/UK – Doc!Alfred, Nurse!Arthur AU

Nurse Arthur is a single ‘father’ with a young son to support. The last thing he needs is for his ex-lover-the father of his child-to turn up as his temporary boss! He cannot forgive Dr Alfred for breaking his heart…nor can he forgive himself for not telling him about their son. Alfred is knocked out by Arthur's little secret. There's no way he'll let him raise their son alone. He was foolish enough to let Arthur slip away before-he won't let it happen again!

“Now, what did Daddy tell you?” Arthur’s smile is calm and patient as he looks down to his son, who looks up at him with bright, blue eyes-blue eyes, flat, golden hair-and smiles wide; there’s not a worry on his face. James is confident he knows the answer to this particular question, why, because Daddy asks him every time he goes to pre-school.
“Wespect the teacher!” He replies, and Arthur nods, “Um... B-Be nice! Don’t forget to tay tank you, or sowwey!”
Arthur smiles and bends down, reaching to an eye-level with James. His hand rubs against the soft, golden hair-“Very good, James.” James’ face grows even brighter-the boy is like a son that never goes down-and he hugs his mother- no, father-around the neck. Arthur hugs him back, but he knows he has to pry his little son off of him, no matter how attached James is to him

Speaking of Francis, good timing. Arthur still needs to pay him back for feeding his son those calorie-inducing cakes-for Pete’s sake, the man was a doctor!
“Get off of me, you damn frog!” Arthur shouts, but Francis clings to him momentarily as Arthur presses his hand against forehead-why the hell did he have to be stuck like glue, go stick to someone else!
Francis releases his grip on Arthur eventually, waving his pathetic little rose around as he did. “Why are you so cold, Arthur? We’ve been working together for so long~.” Francis says, puckering his upper lip like a child, and Arthur has an adorable child and Francis’ pout is even more disturbing because of it“If you consider a bloody few months a long time, then you clearly make friends too easily.” Arthur says, crossing his arms. He had to change, but he wasn’t going to say it in front of Francis of all people-he didn’t need to make his problems worse

I think you made a mistake in the first part:
He rarely fed Alfred cakes. If he ever did, they were bought from the store, not from Francis Bonnefoy.
Also, names that end with "s" have " 's " at the end, instead of just the apostrophe. Nouns with "s" only have the apostrophe (I always get that wrong :() Just a note in case you de-anon it later :DDDD
But I love how this is starting out! I'll be waiting eagerly for the continuation :D James is such a little cutie~ and he knows exactly what makes his mommy daddy tick (or explode. depends on the situation I imagine).

OP/
Permit me a moment to ‘squee!’ rather loudly.
Ahem... SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
What you talking about? It’s good! The pacing is fine and I think Arthur’s reaction to Dr Jones is pretty spot on though it would have amused me senseless if Arthur did beat Francis unconscious with a cart XD
James is so cute! I understood everything he said. Mother Father!England is one of my one true loves, so I am so happy to see him so maternal with James. And Australia, thank you for adding Australia.
France as a ballerina...there’s an image that isn’t going to be leaving me anytime soon...o3o
I will now set up camp here and wait for more ♥♥♥♥

He is being mocked.
There is no other way to explain his situation.
After a year of bravely pushing through pregnancy, literally, without a hand to hold or another person to share his happiness with, and three years of medical school and working on the field, this is what he gets?!
Arthur throws his coat to the floor-he wishes it was Francis’s face instead, and that what he threw was indeed the damn cart that his fellow nurse was pushing along the hallways a few minutes ago.
There is no way Alfred was working at the same hospital as him. Arthur laughs briefly, it’s so funny! The very concept of meeting his old flame after bearing his child three years ago and not telling him a thing, hah-it’s not humanly possible! Arthur has gone mad from considering the idea. Alfred is American-he would work at an American hospital! Not an English one, no sir, no sir indeed

After composing himself (and maybe stomping a bit, and messing his perpetually messy hair even further-and banging his head on the wall, once more), Arthur stepped out of the locker rooms in his scrub.
He does not look like he just had a near nervous breakdown at the idea of meeting Alfred again.
If he had to be completely honest, the idea of meeting Alfred again always lingered in his mind. It is something that Arthur is afraid of, yet somewhere, he feels a bit of happiness at the possibility. Contrary to the way he regards him, Arthur does not hate Alfred.
Arthur does want to punch him in the gut for leaving him without a reason, and instead of a reason, he leaves Arthur with trust issues-damn bloke
