Spain/Romano - Clueless detective and phantom thief anonymous January 3 2011, 22:09:59 UTC
So anon wants to see some AU that involves Spain as a clueless detective, but who can be somewhat competent, and Romano as a phantom or gentleman thief, you know, the kind that leaves a letter before comitting any crime. Strategies, chases, Foe Yay with lots of UST and all that good stuff!

Also, anon doesn't care if it's Spain/Romano or Romano/Spain

Phantom Thief Tomato (Part 1/?) anonymous January 14 2011, 15:44:38 UTC
Private investigator Antonio Fernandez Carriedo sighed as he slumped into his old, worn couch. Yet another day, and still no work. It seemed an eternity since his last case. Perhaps Francis was right. Maybe he really wasn’t cut out to be a detective. At this rate, he was going to get chased out of his apartment for missed rent before he ever had a chance to get another job. He sighed again, grabbing a can of beer and turning on the TV ( ... )

Erk, sorry for fail. This anon will try to add the next part soon (which will hopefully be less terrible.)

Author!Anon loves comments, if anyone would be so kind as to leave some.

This wasn't terrible! I'm looking forward to reading the next part, whenever you post it. ;)

*is still smiling because of the title* Lovino's a tomato thief? I'd love to see where you're going with this. You've got a good idea here. XD

Well, this won't be for a while, if ever, but what is OP's opinion on smut?

Catch You, Catch Me (1a,5?) anonymous January 20 2011, 05:45:25 UTC
This is the first interested anon, bearing thief!Spain and Detective!Romano. Since the other anon was drawing inspiration from some other thief and detective manga I’ve read over the years. Granted, the ones I have in mind were campy and silly, but personally I think that was part of their charm. I hope you enjoy the first installment.Romano wiped his forehead on his shoulder and shifted uncomfortably in his tight quarters. It was dark and still, and all he could hear was the sound of his own pounding heart and increasingly labored breathing. That flamboyant overdressed, overconfident thieving bastard had better show up soon or Romano was going to suffocate ( ... )

Catch You, Catch Me (1b/5?) anonymous January 20 2011, 05:48:18 UTC
Another swell of sultry Spanish music washed over him and before Romano could stop himself, he was picturing strong, confident gloved fingers dancing up and down the neck of the guitar, caressing the strings like they were his lovers. Suddenly his little hideout felt even smaller and warmer before. Even Romano’s pants felt a little tighter. Perhaps he needed to go a bit lighter on the pasta. He swallowed hard and tried to focus ( ... )

“Happy to see me, my cute little tomato?” El Apasionado Caballero breathed against Romano’s cheek, brushing what was most certainly not the beginning of an erection with his leg ( ... )

“Not all at once or you’ll--!” Officer Germany, Romano’s other sworn enemy, sighed in frustration as El Apasionado Caballero danced gracefully out of their way, causing several of the officers to collide painfully ( ... )

Goodness gracious. Spain, never change. Flamenco music is extremely stylish, and so sexy. And nice exit!

Romano, excellent plan. I'm sure there was no way that it could fail in theory. I believe in your thief catching abilities!

On a side note, wouldn't it be Caballero Apasionado? My (admittedly lacking) Spanish education has taught me that the adjectives follow the noun rather than go before it. Just curious.

"On a side note, wouldn't it be Caballero Apasionado? My (admittedly lacking) Spanish education has taught me that the adjectives follow the noun rather than go before it."

After you said that, I went and looked it up on about.com and it said "Generally, the adjectives placed after nouns have an objective meaning or one that carries little or no emotional content, while one placed before the noun can indicate something about how the speaker feels toward the person or thing being described." So maybe it's ok as is? Are there any Spanish-speaking readers who can confirm or negate this?

"El apasionado caballero" is correct. Like that article said, usually adjectives are put before the noun to emphasize them.
