“Angleterre, think of who you are saying it to. Of course I don’t think it pathetic. However, I do think it pathetic that you have yet to tell him and that you are discounting him from being the one sending you the poems.”
“Oh, really now. Think about it, France. What are the chances that America could also be in love with me and trying to woo me through Shakespeare?”
“Stranger things have happened,” he said, hiding a smile behind his wine glass. “Like you falling in love with him in the first place.”
“Are you going to help me, or aren’t you?” England asked, fed up and frustrated with France insisting that it was America. It couldn’t be.
“Sorry, but I don’t have any idea, other than your one true love,” England glared and France continued on oblivious, “and it is most certainly not me. My advice…forget all about it and confess your love to Amerique. You will be ten times happier

I love this fill; it's so adorable, and even when England's so frustratingly clueless, it's so much fun to read. I can't wait to read more clueless England and hamburger-breath England!

I hate to come back and comment again, but I keep rereading and wondering what on earth England's fairies think of all this? Are they amused because they've seen this all before? Or are they as frustrated as everyone else? XP

The lines from this are from The Tempest, Act 3, Scene 1. And for those of you who were expecting bathroom!sex, sorry.
---------- England couldn’t believe that had happened. That he had spent an entire meeting in a bathroom hiding from America’s constant presence and trying to puzzle out the notes that were in his possession. It hadn’t helped, and even worse, he had missed most of the meeting. Which is how he found himself on the street corner, briefcase in hand, walking back to his hotel.
He had to drive America from his mind. That was the only way now. The only way he could survive in a world without America’s love, with strange secret admirers sending him Shakespeare quotes on slips of paper and France being smug and him just being utterly, foolishly, idiotically in love with America.
“You do know that the walk sign has changed two times when you’ve been standing here, right?” Oh, bollocks. He looked over, almost fearful, at America. America was leaning down slightly, so they could be face to face. He had an almost amused look

“I do not have a secret admirer! Why would I? Nobody would ever love me! I’m prickly and easy to anger and unpleasant to look at, and who in their right mind would ever want me?” he said, yanking his arm out of America’s grip. “Now, I’m going to my hotel. Do not bother me unless it’s urgent.” And with that, he finally made it across the street and one street closer to his hotel.
What he didn’t see was America standing there, forlorn on the corner, biting his lip and looking after England with sadness etched into his face.
-------- He was rudely awoken next morning by France.
“What the-France?! How did you get into my hotel room?” France ignored him and went over to the balcony, flinging open the French doors.
“I think you need to see this.”
England grumbled, puling himself out of bed and fumbling for his dressing gown. France got tired of sitting there watching him and just went over and grabbed his arm, yanking him over.
“Oi, why are you so pushy today? And why are you up at this godawful hour-?”

No bathroom!sex is perfectly fine with me, Author!anon; it would be hot, yes, but it would also end badly. I mean, hurried sex in a public bathroom is not the best way to convince England that America has loved him madly and wanted him desperately for ages. At least England would finally finally get the latter, but the former? That would almost certainly go over his head and screw things up. OTLAlso, my heart skips a dizzy beat every time I see an update of this fic, anon. Does that mean I should be proposing marriage to it? ;D

This is so fun to read, but I still kind of want to smack England. (Just a little! LOL)
England looked. His hand flew to his mouth and he backed up into France, but France held him there. He blinked. What was in front of him didn’t change.
... Dare I assume England finally gets it? Probably not! XD
Update is a spirit all compact of fire (aka, love)

WS-loving!anon can so see Arthur replying to Alfred with "Excellent git! Perdition catch my soul. But I do love thee, and when I love thee not, Chaos is come again" (slightly edited, from Othello).

Oh France, you're so useful! <3 Although I kind of really want to know how he got into England's room ... Meh, I guess France has his ways? :'D
Pfft, I was beginning to wonder if America was going to have to send England a tape of himself writing a note, painting the graffiti, quoting Shakespeare, etc. before England started started to realize America was a possibility, much less actually catch on that he was the secret admirer. OTL
Oh hey, anon? I now understand those really annoying one-word comments all over this meme begging for "MOOOOAR!!!" Suddenly, I feel their pain. XD
