America in Love [5b/?] anonymous August 17 2010, 19:35:57 UTC
“I do not have a secret admirer! Why would I? Nobody would ever love me! I’m prickly and easy to anger and unpleasant to look at, and who in their right mind would ever want me?” he said, yanking his arm out of America’s grip. “Now, I’m going to my hotel. Do not bother me unless it’s urgent.” And with that, he finally made it across the street and one street closer to his hotel.

What he didn’t see was America standing there, forlorn on the corner, biting his lip and looking after England with sadness etched into his face.

--------
He was rudely awoken next morning by France.

“What the-France?! How did you get into my hotel room?” France ignored him and went over to the balcony, flinging open the French doors.

“I think you need to see this.”

England grumbled, puling himself out of bed and fumbling for his dressing gown. France got tired of sitting there watching him and just went over and grabbed his arm, yanking him over.

“Oi, why are you so pushy today? And why are you up at this godawful hour-?”

“Angleterre, look!” he said, thrusting him out onto the balcony. England looked. His hand flew to his mouth and he backed up into France, but France held him there. He blinked. What was in front of him didn’t change.

In red spray paint on a billboard facing his window, it said:

How features are abroad
I am skill-less of, but, by my modesty,
The jewel in my dower, I would not wish
Any companion in the world but you,
Nor can imagination form a shape
Besides yourself to like of

No bathroom!sex is perfectly fine with me, Author!anon; it would be hot, yes, but it would also end badly. I mean, hurried sex in a public bathroom is not the best way to convince England that America has loved him madly and wanted him desperately for ages. At least England would finally finally get the latter, but the former? That would almost certainly go over his head and screw things up. OTL

Also, my heart skips a dizzy beat every time I see an update of this fic, anon. Does that mean I should be proposing marriage to it? ;D

Pffffffft, America got kicked in the shins almost immediately after playing the hero and keeping England from walking into oncoming traffic? Why does that seem so strangely canon? XD

... Goddammit, England, your self-esteem issues sometimes. OTL Although it resulted in Shakespeare graffiti, which is just A++ levels of awesome hilarity. (Also kind of heart-breaking when you read it, but still! Kind of hilarious!) And I get the feeling France is about to actually smack England upside the head. Which ... kind of sounds appropriate for their relationship. Only kind of, but yeah.

This is so fun to read, but I still kind of want to smack England. (Just a little! LOL)

England looked. His hand flew to his mouth and he backed up into France, but France held him there. He blinked. What was in front of him didn’t change.

... Dare I assume England finally gets it? Probably not! XD

I think I am too much in love with this fic to form a half-coherent comment.

WS-loving!anon can so see Arthur replying to Alfred with "Excellent git! Perdition catch my soul. But I do love thee, and when I love thee not, Chaos is come again" (slightly edited, from Othello).

Oh France, you're so useful! <3 Although I kind of really want to know how he got into England's room ... Meh, I guess France has his ways? :'D

Pfft, I was beginning to wonder if America was going to have to send England a tape of himself writing a note, painting the graffiti, quoting Shakespeare, etc. before England started started to realize America was a possibility, much less actually catch on that he was the secret admirer. OTL

Oh hey, anon? I now understand those really annoying one-word comments all over this meme begging for "MOOOOAR!!!" Suddenly, I feel their pain. XD
