It's sort of my head canon that America can speak just about every language in the world, but only in his own country with his own people. He just thinks he's speaking local dialects, ha ha.
Because this is now my headcanon as well, I'd like to see scenarios where America slips into his "local dialects" in front of other nations. Cue strange looks. America is still oblivious. :D
If the author!anon from above doesn't mind, I'd LOVE a sequel to the fic above, in which England sets out to prove America's multilinguistic abilities by following him around in secret, trying to catch it on film. Whether England succeeds or not is up to anon.
Thinking of a title, la la la 1a/?

Change the World! author!not-so-anon here (since I de-anoned that one, some of you already know who I am, ah ha), writing a sequel to my own fic. You don't have to read Change the World! for this, but some of the things I'll refer to might make a little more sense if you do.He was doing it again

America pulled away, dark eyes focusing slightly in confusion, and managed to say, “what? I didn’t understand a word of what you said.”
England growled, not about to let the mood die because America was an idiot, and effectively shut him up by shoving him onto the bed and crawling on top of him.
---
“So what the hell were you saying earlier?” America asked after they had calmed down and cleaned up, and they were now laying comfortably in each others’ arms.
England blushed slightly and mumbled against America’s chest, “it was Italian.” I love you so much I could die. But he wasn’t about to say that out loud if America didn’t understand it the first time.
America’s eyes widened and he pushed England back so he could hold him at arm’s length. “What?! Are you with Italy now? Did you really get sick of me, after all?”
England swatted at America’s arms in irritation and went back to snuggling at America’s side. “You git. Didn’t you learn anything after your personality change debacle? I want you, only you, and I’m not about to get

Oh god, I love this idea so much, and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of it so much. <3~!
I loved "Change the World" so much, and I totally was hoping for a sequel when I stumbled across this prompt.
Looking forward to sneaky!England and the inevitable hilarity and frustration of ... well, you know, trying to get anything go well when America is one of the variables! ♥
... Captcha says "senior respell." I dunno if it's making fun of England's age or suggesting magic involvement in the future of this fill, but ... wow.

Oh, oh, Bilingual Bonus! I understood what England had said and MY HEART MELTED, YAYYY I'd love love love for America to know what England said. Because it's so passionate and romantic and totally un-England to say (probably could only say it in another languageXD). America being an oblivious idiot is ♥
Can I has link to this "Change the World" fic? Sounds great ^^ (rings bells, may have started it at some point, but lost it)

Approves of more of these two...so, so, so much!!
Glad that England seems a little more aware that America is not quite so sure of himself in terms of their relationship just yet even if he's bound and determined to head straight into what can only lead to more disaster.

Just a quick update since I'm at the library. Miiiight have more up later, but I'm not sure. orzEngland thought it quite laughable that America felt he was the inadequate one in their relationship, when for all intents and purposes it could be the other way around entirely. England didn't wear his heart on his sleeve like America did, he couldn't casually show affection or love without blushing or acting grumpy as well. It was a wonder that America even felt they went well together

Oh Japan. XD Now I'm wondering if Japan every put his skills to use on England and America. (What am I saying? Of course he has!) I have to admit, I did wonder why England thought Japan could help, but silly me, of course it would be due to his leet sekrit filming skillz.

“Nah…I guess it might sound like a foreign language, but it’s just the dialect spoken around here!” America chirped.
I can't stop LOLing at this line, especially when I think of some dialects in England that really do sound like foreign languages.
Very eagerly awaiting the next installment!
You de-anoned Change the World? I'mma go look for this now.
