Arthur says that the church is the home of God. Alfred’s not quite sure why God has chosen such a scary place as a home. It’s a huge, white building on top of the hill, and you have to pass tombstone after tombstone to get to the entrance. Alfred doesn’t really mind death. Arthur has told him that dying is just the beginning of something new, but he also says that life’s a pain, and Alfred’s not fond of that thought. After all, it takes a lot for a nation to die, and he’s not sure he’ll be able to live through hundreds of years in misery

No smut required but I would like to see Arthur lash out of Alfred then try to comfort him.
Bonus if you have include something about Arthur being a shepherd and Alfred being a wayward lamb.
