Ahh, I hope this is what you wanted, it was just too cute to pass up. The title is from Lucy Maud Montgomery's "A Winter Day". Thought I'd pick a Canadian poet since my title making skills are non-existant. Here's to hoping first!fill is not first!fail. *crosses fingers*He really should spend more time in the Arctic Circle. His feet were stuffed in eight pairs of socks (and about twenty more pairs were in the sled), there was no way he was going to lose his toes to frost bite. With two hats shoved on his head, he should have felt a bit like the Abominable Snowman; the materials were light but warm, so he could move around just fine and it wasn't so bad

Dinner was beans and sausages cooked over the small fire for him, and for the team all sorts of meat trimmings and goodies, mixed with the dogs' special dog food that they ate at home. Kumajirou disappeared for a while and came back with a fish - there must have been a river nearby - which he grudgingly gave part to Matthew to cook over the fire

I can't even begin to elaborate on how thrilled I am with this fill! All of it was absolutely wondrous. This is . . . Just, fantastic. I can't stop gushing and freaking out at people on MSN because I love this fill so much!

Sooooooo cute!! I adore Alfred and animals - he's just so gah-gah over all of them. And Matt was perfect in this - quiet, solid, outdoorsman type, while still being as sweet and fun as ever.
