Francis just basks in the feel of Arthur’s fingers on his neck; he frowns when he feels a hitch, Arthur’s fingers brushing against something. He reaches to his neck, fingers running down along his pulse to find -

What I think I love most about this is that although England is the "dom", there's a give and take in the power between them (because I'm a power-sharing dork), and it's threaded through their intimacy and caring for one another.
I also love, however, the mention of past trauma, and how they're working very very hard - even despite their sexuality, or within it, or whatever phrasing you care to use - to avoid that trauma. Both of them.

Oh god, I was so sure it'd be France as the dom since people seem to think England has to be the UKe, but I'm so glad it wasn't the case! It works so much better like this. I can't explain but... I can imagine France topping fine and well and I can imagine England being the sub, but I can't imagine France being the dom. Not easily at least.

Hands-down one of the most intriguing fills on this meme.
What irks me about most yaoi writing is that insistence on a "top" and a "bottom." While there will be elements of that in sex and in relationships, that doesn't always define it, and giving and taking can be more complicated.
I love the sweetness and yet the viciousness and a bit of cynicism in Arthur and Francis's interactions with one another. It's gloriously complex. And need I say the sex is very hot? The characterization is absolutely brilliant. Francis may be the "sub" but he knows what buttons to push and he pushes them so cleverly.
The shallow part of me is loving the thought of Arthur naked except for a pair of boots.
