The first day Gilbert refuses to believe.

Perhaps it’s some sort of sick practical joke. That must be it. So he sits on the wooden bench he wakes up on and stares up at the single bare bulb that throws shadows onto the mildewed ceiling and is bored.

The second day begins when a harsh voice wakes him. The light flickers and the door to the underground room shakes on its hinges. “Aufstehen!” it orders, and as sleepy as Prussia is he doesn’t want to disobey. He scrambles to his feet and stands to attention. But no one comes in ( ... )

...This is just... Wow. There is no way in the world my fill is going to be able to even compare to this. No nation is innocent in this world, no person is sinless. After all, countries are built on bloodshed and war. Andthe saddest part is that... Sometimes the nations have no control over these things. And other times its the people that have no control. Even places with no military of theor own like Hong Kong or Liechtenstein are covered in blood. I suppose we'll never look at those cute little personifications of countries the same way again.

Captcha: 43 Emblems... =.O

This was AMAZING. I loved it so much, all the details and the denial, and the guilt burning at them.

*coughs* Um... Any chance you'd be interested in writing a sequel to this with the Asian nations? I'm thinking of Japan, and his actions in Okinawa and China in WWII in particular...

Consider it done, good anon. Consider it done. :) Give me a few days to research- what was it you mentioned up-thread?- the lesser known Asian nations etc, and I'll get back to you.

The Original draft of (above) contained both China and Japan, but the word count was getting unmanageable, so I cut them. I'll rework them into something over the next week or so. ^^

It indeed was heavy to chew, but swallow I did.

Most of the events mentioned are already known, but I'm grateful that you also put in lesser known historical events, such as the Armenian Genocide. All the more are nations who are seen as victims, such as Poland. Even the Italian invasion on Assyria/Ethiopa.

As one of the anon mentioned above, seeing a sequel of sort with the Asian nations would be great too. China and Japan have their own nightmares, but so does the others.

Another mind-blowing piece from you again.

I enjoyed reading this very much, and learned some things, too. Though I still question how mature Germany really is. In most schools in Germany they don't even teach about the Holocaust. There are also many people to believe it ever happened. Just a consideration.

Greetings from Germany~

Citation needed. This goes against everything I know about German education.

"Citation needed"? Really? LOL

But seriously, I think they were just generalizing from their own experience in German schools. That kind of generalization is often inaccurate, but most people seem to assume that their school experience was "normal," even though these things vary wildly based on too many variables to count.

Oh Germany. Oh Germany!

I am speechless. Author!anon, you love Germany, don't you? Love him despite his flaws, his sins, his crimes. Because reading your words just stir up my emotion and I love Germany so much.

Please write more about him? *puppy eyes*

This is good. Why do I feel that you were the most sympathetic towards Germany?
