England/Portugal BFFness. They’ve been ‘married’ for 636 years. I’d like to see them celebrating their anniversary; with wine and cloth and renewing their vows. It’s all in good fun naturally, the sort of private joke and casual affection that comes with knowing someone for a long, long time. The rest of Europe would probably get it. America, not so much.
- The Anglo-Portuguese Alliance is the longest surviving in the world, all the way from 1373 - Today. You know England loves his Portuguese 'wife'.
- I like to think that for all of England’s shortcomings and tsundere-ness, all the other nations somewhat envy him for being ‘married’ for so long. Especially Austria/Hungary and Sweden/Finland.
- Bonus if Spain tries to get tips from his brother on how to propose to Lovino. Only to have Portugal point out that England did all the proposing. Which is still a topic of great embarrassment to the Brit because they formed the alliance ‘married’ while they were both still young and reckless and it took them years to ride out the bumps
