Grrr Francis I hope you get something really nasty now. And I hope it involves Canada in some way (a non-harmful to Canada way, though France doesn't need to know that.) France has always been a bit of twit (de Gaulle much?)
Obviously what you should do now Alfred is to leave them to fend for themselves. (North Korea for example comes to mind, and their recent suggestion about diplomatic talks. This is what I mean, since Obama is much more willing to do it than Bush was. I can't find the American article but it thought two-party talks were a good idea ( ... )

France IS going to ask about Matthew again, and that's going to pave the way for Russia's punishment.
Now, there's a problem with the "leaving them to fend for themselves" thing. You know how Alfred didn't finish his sentence when he talked about how he'd kill anyone who messed with them? What he was about to say was "Even after everything you did to me, I still would."
He stopped because he didn't want THEM to know that.

The tension was so thick a knife could cut through it.
Although I get why Kiku would try to apoligize, Alfred had a point.
Kiku apologized before for Pearl Harbor, the Bataan Death March and the treatment of American soldiers in their camps.
After him being saying sorry for so many things, I would problems believing him.
In fact, I would furious. How he say he's sorry now that I'm taking revenge! I would believe he's sorry because I'm about to do something awful to him. That would make me very angry, and I would "see" if he's truly sorry.
