Matthew Williams let out a sigh as he turned down the heat on the stove so that his soup wouldn’t burn and walked over to the sink, passing his brother (who was still ranting on about something to do with Arthur that the Canadian hadn’t really been listening to) to get to the cabinet so that he could take down some bowls before passing his brother again to place them on the table with the silverware and glasses.
“-and I mean, yeah, ok, I like to joke around with him sometimes but I really meant it this time and...why’d you set three places?” Alfred asked, giving the table a curious look.
“Because I was already expecting company before you showed up,” Matthew replied tiredly. “Why don’t you just explain to Arthur that you didn’t mean ( ... )

“His name is actually Matthew,” the blonde replied, following the girl into the other room where she was surveying the walls with a curious expression. “So, you’re probably wondering why I called you over here.”
