Here via rydra_wong; I'm really having difficulty expressing how strongly I agree with you without self-invoking Godwin's Law. I just...what. How is it okay to do that? ON WHAT PLANET? Just...ugh. I feel all kinds of disrespectful just reading that fic.

Does Godwin's Law hold where the subject under discussion actually is genocide? I wonder about this.

Heh, I think that when you're actually talking about genocide the conversation is probably exempt. Although it's still totally bizarre and sad that the conversation is also about fanfiction. The two should not go together like that.

Anyway, thank you.

Also, if you're learning about the Cambodian genocide from SPN RPS, I find THAT really fucking ridiculous.

Next in our class, "Wanking Off To Historical Tragedies 101", we have the Armenian genocide. Be sure to pull up your pants when the Ottoman Turks show up!

Thanks for the link, and the comments, and the discussion in your LJ. I didn't really feel up to hosting any kind of discussion myself, heh, but I did poke my head in to see a few. It is a good thing that people are at least talking about it.

Thank you so much for that. Seriously. I feel like I've just been a big oversensitive ball of fury for a couple of days now, and I appreciate so much that other people are stepping up and really talking about it.

This is no actual consolation, but people suck a lot. I'm sorry you got smacked in the face with it.

They really do! It's like, you keep trying and trying to make a difference, but there just keep being more people.

Thank you.

Thank you. And thank you so much for all of your posts and comments elsewhere. I haven't felt up to really discussing any of this substantively, but it does gratify me to see that other people are up to it and are discussing it.

You're welcome. I'm glad to pinch-hit. I hope our positions are never reversed.

I should rephrase: I think you'd do the same/similar if it was something about non-Cambodians. I hope another situation like the one evinced by that story never arises so that I'm knackered, and you're wading in to speak some home truths.
