Right. So. My internet's been weird and kept cutting out all day, so I'm going to try to make this brief, but OH MY GOD THIS IS BRILLIANT. ALL OF THIS IS BRILLIANT. I can't really quote you my favourite parts because ALL OF THEM ARE MY FAVOURITE PARTS. Oh. THANK YOU.
I love Nathan dutifully answering letters and visiting his mum, and I love Maisie being okay, and I love Maisie sending postcards, and I love Declan being careful around Nathan, and I love him hiring a babysitter for Will without telling Nathan so they can go for a drink. It's kind of sad and yet kind of amazing that the very tactics that were annoying when it came to him romancing Natasha are actually kind of perfect when it comes to Nathan. You would totally have to just make decisions for him and talk him into doing things that were probably good for him. And it was just kind of absolutely Declan and absolutely Nathan. It was pretty generous characterisation - there were quite a few moments where I could pretty easily picture him

Basically, as I have said to other people, at certain points I either have to make a choice between making it perfect, or getting it posted. And with Spooks coming up and my knowledge of how I am when it's on, and the fact that the Wyldes are all buggering off at some point soon, I wanted to get it posted before it became irrelevant (hello, Toby fic), so I did leave the characterisation as it was. HOWEVER I am now tempted to write something from Declan's pov, so it could be that I fill in some of the gaps that way. This fic was vaguely intended to take place over a few months, anyway.
I enjoyed writing it a lot more than I expected, actually :)
I want to say that you probably enjoyed writing it so much because NATHAN IS SO AMAZING, but I'm aware that that's my love for him talking. And while I am more than happy to have this, if you wrote a Declan pov one I might scream (with happiness). One of my favourite things was Declan called Nathan a 'weird kid', and thinking about how he must see him. DID YOU SEE LAST NIGHT'S EPISODE? OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD. I HOPE THE TRUTH COMES OUT AND DECLAN BELIEVES IT, BECAUSE OH MY GOD. But I totally understand if Spooks is the thing you're mostly thinking about, obviously. Did you know that Lyndon was apparently in Spooks for an episode, according to imdb? And Robin Hood, which is quite pleasing for me.
I really have to watch Monday's episode (though I know what happens). I have downloaded the relevant bits. I did consider a fight, so that might go into the Declan fic.
I really want to know Declan's reaction to the truth!
Yes! I will try to get a screencap. I rewatched that episode recently. I didn't know he was in Robin Hood though.
