For sweetinaskirtLeonard hadn't slept very much the night before. Almost not at all, save for an hour where his body was truly too exhausted to cope. Dani awoke slowly, her arm stretched out across the mattress to touch the empty space beside her. This time it only took a moment for her to remember the day before and everything that had happened, so she didn't panic, merely sighed and rubbed at her eyes ( ... )

Leonard heard her gentle footsteps, so used to them, and lifted his head up to smile at her, trying his hardest to hide the tired look hidden in them. He saw the box in her hand and hesitated, clearing his throat.

"You took it off so nothin' happened to it on the planet," he explained, if she was curious as to why it was there, and not on her finger.

She nodded and came over to stand beside the sofa. "I think I remembered something. About this. Or maybe it was just my imagination." She shot him a worried look. She was afraid that instead of memories resurfacing, she'd just end up filling in the blanks with her imagination.

"Were my parents against us getting married? Because that what I seemed to remember."

He looked up at her as he listened and nodded his head slowly in agreement. "They were. I spoke to them though, to let them actually get to know me. After that you said they'd come round to th' idea. It was important to me for them to know I have nothin' but good intentions with you," short of telling them he'd not deflowered their little girl, he'd told them that he was a respectable man who loved and adored their daughter. Thankfully, his honesty had shone through enough for them to take to him.
