For sweetinaskirtLeonard hadn't slept very much the night before. Almost not at all, save for an hour where his body was truly too exhausted to cope. His mind raced, and even though he knew he needed to rest to be at his best, it somehow felt like he was wasting his time trying to sleep, when not trying to work out a way to solve Daniela's problem

Dani awoke slowly, her arm stretched out across the mattress to touch the empty space beside her. This time it only took a moment for her to remember the day before and everything that had happened, so she didn't panic, merely sighed and rubbed at her eyes

Leonard heard her gentle footsteps, so used to them, and lifted his head up to smile at her, trying his hardest to hide the tired look hidden in them. He saw the box in her hand and hesitated, clearing his throat.

"You took it off so nothin' happened to it on the planet," he explained, if she was curious as to why it was there, and not on her finger.

She nodded and came over to stand beside the sofa. "I think I remembered something. About this. Or maybe it was just my imagination." She shot him a worried look. She was afraid that instead of memories resurfacing, she'd just end up filling in the blanks with her imagination.

"Were my parents against us getting married? Because that what I seemed to remember."

He looked up at her as he listened and nodded his head slowly in agreement. "They were. I spoke to them though, to let them actually get to know me. After that you said they'd come round to th' idea. It was important to me for them to know I have nothin' but good intentions with you," short of telling them he'd not deflowered their little girl, he'd told them that he was a respectable man who loved and adored their daughter. Thankfully, his honesty had shone through enough for them to take to him.

She smiled a little and took one more look at the ring before closing the box. "I remembered that, all on my own. First I saw the ring, then I felt what I felt back then, and then I remembered what happened. That's good, right?"

He made no comment on her closing the box, even if it did make him ache a little bit. Not her fault, never her fault, he just had to repeat that silently and he felt marginally better over it. Nodding at her, he was certainly pleased with the progress she had made. "That's wonderful. Even little details like that will all come together to help. Are you feeling hungry?"

"Yup," she answered, setting the box on the coffee table. "I just gotta wash my face and stuff first." Heading towards the bathroom with a spring in her step, she added, "You can pick. I'm sure you know what I like."

She felt more than hopeful that now all her memories would come back to her. She just needed little triggers to help.

"Alright," he nodded and watched her go. He waited a moment and stared at the box, but then pushed himself up and over to the replicator. He got them both a dish he knew she liked and set it down at the table, with a drink for them both.

She came out of the bathroom, nearly skipping as she headed over to the table and sat down.

"Thanks, Leonard." She dug in and spent the next few minutes just eating. Then she took a sip of orange juice and asked, "Are you gonna scan my brain first thing today?"

He too sat down when she did and also began to eat. At her question he nodded his head in agreement. "If you'd allow that. Sooner I get th' readings, sooner I can start on my work."

"Yup, that's what I wanna do." She was in such a good mood that she started feeling giddy. Her eyes darting around, she hoped something would catch her attention and trigger a memory. And as she continued to eat, she bobbed her crossed leg up and down under the table in anticipation of getting her brain scanned.

She had to smile at that. Yesterday she had wanted out of medical as fast as possible, and now she couldn't wait to go back there.

"Good," he returned her smile and ate his small portion of breakfast; nothing too big but all that he could really manage right now. He was pleased at the fact she was at least going to let him do that; progress on getting her to trust him all over again.

She scarfed down the rest of her breakfast and then took it back to the replicator, putting it in and hitting the button he'd shown her to get rid of it.

"Take your time," she told him, not wanting to rush him even though she was eager to get started. She headed over towards the couch, gazing at the pictures on the wall again.

"Oh, I'm done," he commented, standing up to put his half eaten food into the replicator. He knocked back his coffee though, even considered a second but thought better of it until he was in medical. He'd have a coffee in there.

"Ok." As he disposed of his food, she looked back at the ring box thoughtfully. Picking it up, she opened the lid. If seeing it had brought a memory forward, maybe wearing it would too. But would that upset him?

Seeing him drink his coffee, she turned away and slipped the ring on her finger. She didn't get any immediate flashes, but it looked nice sitting there as she wriggled her finger in the light.

He moved to push his communicator into his pocket and gathered up a few PADDs before he looked over at her, her back to him. "Are you ready to go down to medical with me?"
