Jaime had not gotten home, collapsed on the couch, and fallen asleep early from the exhaustion of trying to catch up on all the work he'd missed while stuck in the Bleed.

He just naturally sounded half-awake when he answered the phone!

"Hello?"

"Why are you always asleep when I call?" Momoko teased with an overly-dramatic sigh. "It's totally not that late."

"Wasn't asleep!" Jaime objected. Unconvincingly.

Momoko's chuckle was soft and fond. "You totally were. I can tell just by your voice." And lack of full sentences.

There was a knock on the door, and a badly accented voice saying "Housekeeping!"

"Come in?" Momoko tilted her head, confused. The maids here usually didn't knock! And they totally didn't call themselves 'housekeeping'!

No they didn't. But the B-Town Girls might. Leda cracked the door and poked her head in. Then Wiseguy poked her head in above Leda's, and Sai followed suite below.

"Hello," they each sang, one after another in a different key. Occasionally they thought they were funny.

Momoko giggled hard. "Hi! Come in! Come in!" Momoko set the mirror down and waved at the girls. "Quick before someone realizes we're not working!"

Dinah touched her earbud, and said softly, "Canary here." Down below, she watched the traffic patterns, waiting for the right van to follow.

"It's..." well, "Blossom. Is it okay to talk?" Momoko would totally understand if not. "I can call back later? I think."

"It's fine. But I may go off comms suddenly for a bit. I'm on stakeout," Dinah said, voice still low, but amused. "What's up?"

"Oooh! Stake out! Anything interesting?" Momoko settled back against her pillows. "I'm just calling to let people know we're still alive. Well, Me, Karla, Leda, and James... I can't vouch for anyone else. A lot of people died, and not everyone to the actual war."
