Saturday, Walking from Serendipity Place to the Arms...

Momoko wasn't sure why her portal dropped her off on the far side of the island, or why it totally sounded like a laugh as it disappeared, but it totally wasn't going to spoil her happy mood! She was back at Fandom for a whole weekend with nothing to do but have fun ( Read more... )

Dinah was hanging out on a park bench, camera and camera-phone at the ready, mochachino in hand, reading the newspaper. She heard Momoko and Jaime, though, and immediately got up to stand on her bench, grinning and waving her arms. "HELLO VISITING DIGNITARIES!"

From someone without dignity.

Momoko waved back, tossing kisses at her BFF. "Thank you! Thank you! No pictures, please!"

"Actually," Jaime chimed in with a grin, "you can take pictures, but you have to give me copies of all of them." Since there might be some of Momoko.

Dinah jumped off the bench and group-glomped them both. Hey, it'd been three months. "You guys. Dudes, you have to visit me more often!"

"You can totally tell that to my Captain!" Momoko laughed and squeezed her back. "He was totally frowning when I said I was going to America and couldn't be on-call."

Jaime hugged them both hard. It was totally okay since it wasn't just Momoko!

"Why do we have to visit you?" he asked with a grin.

All the goofing around and shouting attracted attention from some other people, down the block. Lena stood on her tip-toes, then squealed and took off.

Which was why her tackle-hug was very-- tackle-y.

"Moooom! Aunt Momomomo! Uncle Jaime! You're here! You're teeny! This is awesome!"

Lies. All of her tackle hugs were tackle-y.

As soon as the group had separated - tackle-hugs did that very well - 'Berto swooped in and picked his mom up in a giant, super tight, spinning hug. "Hey! Miss me?"

He'd hug his dad in a minute.

Dinah was staring from the girl calling her 'mom' -- who was definitely not the teenage Sin she remembered from last year's older-version-in-the-future weekend-- to the very tall cute guy who'd picked up Momoko like she was a featherweight.

"...bzuh?" And yet, and yet-- she was hugging the girl back, because, maybe, just maybe, those eyes were familiar....

Jaime's first, and automatic, reaction was to move toward the guy who had Momoko. It was a defensive sort of step, and his arm reached out for the guy's shoulder, but... Something stopped him. (Besides, the guy looked like he could beat Jaime up if it came to it, so Dinah would be a better protector anyway.)

Momoko, for her part was pretty much stunned into silence. Or squeezed into it.

"I don't know who you are!" She finally managed, laughing; the spinny hug was totally like the ones Jaime used to give and that was throwing her off balance in more ways than just physically.

"Auntie Momomomo, c'mon! You know me! California Sparkle Girl, your sidekick!" Lena grinned wide, hugging her mom tight. "So that makes the tall guy...?" Uncle Jaime would probably get it first. He was smart like that.

And meanwhile she was sending, It's me, Mom. Lena. You look so young! You all do! Which was self-evident, but. You know I'm me, don't you? It would be..unnerving, if her mom didn't know her. But she could feel her Mom's mind against hers-- younger, not as protected, but still way warm and steady and strong.

"'Berto!" Came the response from said tall guy. 'Berto stopped his spinning, giving his mom one last squeeze before setting her down. "We thought we'd come to the wrong place!"

He stepped towards his dad eagerly, reaching out to give him a much less squeezy (and totally not spinny, yet still totally full of love) hug.

Jaime did figure it out. Just as the Berto was halfway to him. He sighed resignedly and managed a smile, clapping the guy on the back. "I suppose it's nice to meet you... son?"

Man. This was waymessed up. And the way he'd greeted Momoko pretty much answered the 'who's you'r mother' question.

And to prove who was the smart one: "Son? He's your son?!"

MAYBE SHE WAS JUST DIZZY, OKAY?

Momoko turned to the girl though, with a very happy smile. "Lena?! No way! You grew up! You're like, ALL grown up!"

Dinah was still squeezing the life out of Lena, and sending back in a rush, Of course it's you I knew it but I didn't know what I knew, oh my god, you're as old as older-Sin, is this Momoko's baby?! Whoa! And laughing out loud. Rubbing at her eyes.

NO REASON, OKAY?

She grinned at Momoko, getting it before Momoko did. "Uh, Momoko, why do you think tall'n'cute hugged *you* first?"
