admin: challenge #10 - watch me watch you
From the very beginning of our show, themes of watching and seeing have been right upfront and center. This icon, in fact, comes from the very first episode, with Niki "watching" the eclipse through Micah's pinhole camera.
This week's challenge, "Watch Me Watch You" comes to us from policepenguin.
Linderman's obviously watching everyone. The Haitian warns Claire that Peter is being watched. Claire watches Meredith talk to Nathan. Claude's invisibility makes him the quintessential watcher; and he and Peter watch Isaac and Simone. Candace watches through other people's eyes. Video cameras watch Nathan and Niki have sex, who was on the other end?
Secret meetings being watched? Illicit encounters being seen? Whether the watch or the watched, the theme of observation and that of voyeurism are rich for flashfic.
Your challenge: write a fic of 250 words or more in which observation, voyeurism, or even the more usually acts of watching - television, birds, sunrises, you name it - are somehow central.
C'mon. Let's fill the end of the hiatus with really great fic.
This challenge will close on Sunday, April 22. Because we'll all be too busy WATCHING our show to write flashfic on Monday, April 23.
