That was a powerful scene, a powerful moment. I thought it didn't get the attention it needed in Heroes, but Heroes is full of moments like that. It was one of the many times where the writers drew a very clear parallel between "special" and "gay". X-Men was about as blatent, with the whole "coming out" discussion between the ice guy and his parents. I still remember the mother saying something like "Have you tried *not* being a mutant?"

Being special works as a stand-in for almost any characteristic that is discriminated against, but Jeremy Greer's death immediately reminded me of the dragging death of that young man in Texas who was presumed gay (or maybe he was gay, I don't remember if he was, or they just said he was and in any case it doesn't matter).

Jeremy's story would be wonderful - full of angst and tragedy and mystery and confusion.

i agree, but i also feel like if they'd tried to draw more attention to it/flesh it out more, they would've fucked the whole thing over (don't get me wrong, much love for the heroes writers, in my opinion i just think they needed to be a bit more hands-off sometimes). as it was, i think it was amazingly done.

i definitely got that too. some parts of me were curious where they could've taken the rest of his story, but it still seemed best to me where they let it go.

and to your second comment: thank you very much! i'm definitely still churning it out, haha.

Oh, and you wrote a good scene!

I look forward to the other scenes you write up on this guy. It's a great choice of material.
