It's the day before Valentine's Day. To Clark, however, it's just another day. In fact, chances are it hasn't even occurred to him that it's nearing on any sort of special occasion. As far as he's concerned, he and Anna are just meeting Chloe and Jimmy for a cup of coffee and small talk at the Talon. Nothing special ( Read more... )

"Maybe," Clark replies. "Isn't there some saying about good things and waiting?"

"Seems to me there might exist something of the kind. I can't seem to recall it very clearly, though."

Grin.

"Why don't you refresh my memory?"

"Good things come t o those who wait. That's it," he declares, nuzzling his nose along her neck. "So you're just going to have to be patient."

"Ah, of course. How could I forget?"

She brings up a hand to lightly run her fingers through Clark's hair.

"Of course, I'm going to need to occupy myself somehow in the interim."

This being Anna speaking, and this being Clark she's sitting on, the next step is obvious. And it involves Clark's much-loved jawline.

And it will never be fair play. Ever. Especially when Anna has no such obvious weak spots herself.

Clark just sighs happily and settles back against the couch, hands tightening around her waist.

All's fair in love and war?

Well.

Lust and war, in this case.

Clark is disinclined to agree. Perhaps this is because he does know what he could do to get Anna in a similar state, but he just won't do it. Of course, that has more to do with him than it does about Anna.

Anna, too, knows.

It puts a slight dent, when she thinks about it, in her mischievous glee at using Clark's weak spot in such a fashion.

On the plus side - well, she hasn't thought about it in quite some time.

Isn't thinking about it now, in fact.

She has more... pressing issues to attend to.

Those issues are definitely pressing. And need attention.

To aid in the effort, Clark just easily picks Anna up and carries her into the bedroom.

Patience, it seems, is no longer on the agenda.

Oh, indeed.

And although by now she's entirely forgotten the question she asked originally, she hardly misses it.

After all, it's the day before Valentine's Day, and there's celebrating to be done.

Anna can think of it as pre-Valentine's Day celebrating if she wants. Clark will just consider it a pretty average night spent at Anna's.

Average?

Now, now, Clark.

You should know better than to think any night spent at Anna's could be described as average.

Always thinking up new tricks, Anna is.

Well, average in that it's a night spent with Anna in her bed. What goes on in the bed while they're there, well, Clark's accepted that they went well beyond the mundane long ago. And just so long as it stays in her bed, he's okay with that.

If only Anna could read the narration, she would totally be giggling right now.

Or at least at the next available opportunity.

Giggling would not be wise at this juncture.

Maybe in an hour or two.

Well then it's a good thing Anna's not a meta-character, now isn't it?

Since that's the reason why she's not giggling at the moment.

(That, and... well... she's otherwise occupied.)
