I hope I'm not getting sick

I took a nap when I got home from classes, but it wasn't a very good nap. I slept, but it wasn't a very comfortable one. Bah. I saw a sign today about auditions for "Into The Woods" and of course I'm getting all nervous and having second thoughts again. The sign said you had to prepare 16-32 bars of an up-tempo song and 16-31 bars of a ballad. How ( Read more... )

A bar is a measure. So 16-32 measures. You're going to need the sheet music anyway for the accompaniest (unless they let you sing acapella) so just look at that and pick 16-32 bars that makes sense. Either part of a verse or the chorus or whatever's most interesting and shows off your voice.

Sheet music. That could be a problem. I don't have any sheet music and don't have money to buy any. Hrm. I wish it was like back in high school when McGroarty gave us the pages to sing from and she was there on piano and it was nice and simple.

Perhaps the library will have something you can check out? I don't have a clue, but half of the multi-media floor is music stuff. ????

That's what I was thinking. Maybe I can find something that'll work for me, and photocopy it.

Also...where the hell is the Whalen Center? I know the name, but I have no clue where it is.

oh and I totally agree about 9/11. Thankfully our school isn't doing anything for it that I'm aware of. Figures, since we didn't even get our classes cancelled that day.

Emmers, I wrote this whole long response agreeing about how you feel concerning Sept. 11. However, I realized I was high jacking your journal. So, I posted it in mine instead. Your welcome to read it (along with anyone else :)') but as a warning... it is very much about my political views, which few people ever agree with, and these are views that I am very passionate about (as you admit in your quiz). Hence, it's a bunch of angry bantering. Enjoy it if you decide to take it on...

I'm in a classroom in Park right now, so I can't read your detailed rant at the moment, but I'll be sure to check it out when I get home in a couple hours.

Thanks Emmers for helping me realize that I have a right (unless Bush gets his way) to feel the way I do and that a) I'm not the only person who feels this way and that b) I'm not the only person who remembers Oklahoma. And we'll also work something out about gettin geveryone together, even if I have to take a Saturday off to do it (once I catch up on bills and all... :(
