Nice: this gives a good sense of understanding Jack, both what he is an what he wants to be. The essense of himself, with the everpresent flavour of 'flexibility'.
Thanks. That scene in OOT really struck me, and it's definitely something I want to come back to. There's the sense that he's being this person for now, while he's waiting, but that he could be someone else at any time. It'll be intriguing to get more of his backstory when it comes.
Yes. I love all the questions of Jack with relation to his own identity, and what it means to him - the name, the memories, the role, the levels of otward deception and inward understanding.
Can hardly wait for more backstory.
What I love most, I think, is the moments when he does reveal something of himself - and you know it's the truth - like the story he told the Doctor about losing his memories, or the story he told Captain Jack Harkness about seeing his friend tortured to death. Moments when you know that Jack is not only telling a true part of his story, but that it's a part that means a lot to him.

I didn't quite know what was going to happen when I started writing this, but as ever, it's come out better than I expected :) Thanks!
