Choosing the right name is as important as forging the right ID papers. Your name has to match your face and your story, or you might as well turn yourself in.
But when you understand this, it gives you the advantage. Jack grasped it long ago, long before he claimed the name that has become his favourite. When he hears it spoken by others, on the lips of friends or lovers, he feels a thrill as though it was his own. And although he will have to relinquish it one day, for now he will make it who he is.
