Drabbles: Tapotement/Infinite

Two today, because I have the feeling that the first one only qualifies because I've used the name 'Jack' but I enjoyed writing it too much not to put it in here.

Title: Tapotement drabble

"tapotement" fits pretty well with Jack to me. :)

Infinite: you have me wondering if the question is about the Doctor or Jack himself...

interesting.

It fitted, but I felt like I'd cheated so I thought I'd make up for it with a 'proper' Torchwood one :)

I hadn't thought of the second one like that. Now you've got me thinking! ;)

I like them both, sometimes reading a drabble is more preferable then reading a long drawn out fic! So I like these, well done!:D

Thanks! There's something quite satisfying about drabbles, I always think.

Glad you enjoyed :D

I like these. I love how you leave them both open for interpretation, and Ianto finding things in the archive just fits.

Well, all the team have got to be curious about Jack, but Ianto's the only one really in a good position to do something about it.

Glad you liked :) Thanks

Delightful. How much would any of us want to have a massage by Jack? You certainly make me want to have one right now!

And in Infinite you bring out the pain that is there in both Ianto and Jack... it is haunting.

[I love drabbles. they're the snapshots of the fanfic world, a quick look at something, showing a glimpse of a much larger whole. They are darned hard to write well!]

*grin* I thought people would enjoy the first one :)

That's interesting what you say about Ianto and Jack. I had tension in mind, but I've found that because of their nature, drabbles can be read in whole new ways by different people. Just one of the reasons I love writing them!

Thanks :D

Tension? There can't be any tension after that massage... ;-)

I think the reason I read it as sad, is that Jack is feeling stretched by too many years, whilst Ianto feels he knows less and less about Jack.

I can see what you intended. I've commented to other writers before: we know what we meant when we wrote something. But we have no control over what the reader takes from it. Drabbles are just more extreme because we have so few words to frame ideas in, a naked idea (sorry thinking about that massage again!).

That's really interesting. I love that these things can be read so many ways - it's nice to think that people are thinking about the drabbles at all! I agree that drabbles are more extreme, but it never ceases to amaze me how many different ways there are to read things. It's so much more fun that way.

I think thoughts of that massage are going to linger for a while...

Mmmm, I want that massage... *sigh*

And I love Infinite. Very in-character, both of them.
