I just came across some videos from the BBC.  In the first video they visit North Korea for Kim Il Sung's B-day.  It is better produced that most such videos, but mostly much of the same.  The more remarkable of the two is the second one in which they interview some defectors.

I came across this Washington Time article today from conservative analyst IIan Berman.  Like most DPRK watchers he prescribes a crackdown on DPRK finances and the countries ability to generate foreign currency.  This should be a US government priority and should involve departments working in concert with the South Korean and Japanese governments ( Read more... )
