five good things make a post

1) After their breakfast, Toby and Theo did what they have done every morning for most of their lives, which is go sit by the coffee table and wait for The Big Kitty to come wash their faces. For the past three mornings, when The Big Kitty did not appear, Theo wandered through the house calling for him. This morning, he washed his brother's face ( Read more... )

Wait.

5) Spiced pumpkin frozen custard WHAT? WHERE IS THE RECIPE FOR THIS DELIGHTFUL THING? =D

1) God, cats can be adorable. How do they work!? It's not even fair. We never stood a chance, as a species, once they found out we think they're cute.

5) I take it I should post the frozen custard recipe for you? (Do you need any others? Salted caramel frozen custard? Maple frozen custard? Rum frozen custard with toasted coconut?)

1) Cats are the BEST. Tiny adorable goofball predators!

Oh my GOD, woman. YES! Absolutely! All of them, especially the salted caramel! (except the one with maple, because I'm allergic. But I'm sure others would welcome it as a public service!)

Your meal plans for the next two days sound yummy, particularly the chili with dessert. I wish I could motivate myself more often to cook just for me - I love doing it, but I rarely do so unless there's company. It starts with the shopping (most of the things are not available in 'single household'quantities) and then it feels wastefull, both in terms of time and food, to cook for just me. :(

Oh, I never cook for one -- I make recipes that serve 4 to 6 and then freeze some of it and/or have leftovers for lunch at work all week. I love good food, and I love cooking, and I don't think it's wasteful to do something I love.

This morning, he washed his brother's face instead.

This killed me. Oh kitties!!!

Spiced pumpkin frozen custard sounds amazing. When I was doing my grocery shopping yesterday, I managed to not buy anything in the pumpkin section of Trader Joe's freezer. It was not an easy thing, considering they had pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin french macarons, chocolate and pumpkin torte, and mini pumpkin pies.

I left the store feeling very virtuous. :D

The kittens have been awfully good lately, to each other and to me. Toby slept under the covers with me last night.

Spiced pumpkin frozen custard IS amazing -- and totally seasonal at this time of year. I've also been making maple frozen custard, which is equally wonderful.

If you like pumpkin and want something less sugary to do with it, there's always soup! Mmmm, soup. I am so happy that soup weather is finally here.
