vid notes: Out Here, In the Mirror, and getting Fraser moving

I've moved on to a new vid project (or rather three new vid projects), but I'm still sort of thinking about In the Mirror, and specifically about the vid as a companion piece to Out Here. So this post is my tying-up of assorted mental loose ends.

I think it was sisabet who first articulated to me the idea that In the Mirror is the flipside of Out Here;

Honestly, what is it with me this week that I am so easily brought to a state of total verklempt? but that's where this post brings me, as do both of the vids you're talking about here. I love the idea of them as companion-pieces, interlocking character studies. And you're reminding me why I love these boys so much. And just -- yes.

One of the things about coming to this show pre-indoctrinated in the ways of F/K is that the MFEO seemed self-evident to me from the get-go; but I didn't realize quite how fully I'd internalized it until I was making In the Mirror.

And I am so, so happy to be able to participate in some small way in your love for these guys. *g*

Ooh I loved reading this. I especially like the stillness vs. motion in Out Here and how that structured the vid. That doorway shot with Ray stuck is such a powerful visual image for that very reason and communicates so much. Thanks for writing this up :)
