vid remaster: Thistledown Tears

Nov 30, 2006 22:26

I've been meaning to do a DivX (well, XviD, really) version of Thistledown Tears ever since making New Frontier. And now I've finally gotten around to it, partly as a warm-up for the new Firefly vid I'm hoping to start work on... um... well, I'd like to start it this weekend, but the probability that I'll open Premiere again before finals are over ( Read more... )

It works if you left-click, not when you Right-click save as.

Now that Diya has solved my webpage ineptitudity, may I just say that this looks absolutely stunning. And if I could somehow grade your papers for you so that you could get started on the next one right away--well, I'd still probably let you grade them, *BUT* I would at least be seriously tempted. ;}

And since I don't think I ever mentioned it, Cat Scan H'stry looks fabulous as well. And still creeps me the heck out. ;)

I was JUST re-reading your commentary from Out Here and thinking "When was the last time HL posted about vidding? She IS vidding isn't she??? Has the world gone completely topsy Turvy?"

*runs off to download remastered version*

Hee! Well, the last time I posted about vidding was late October, when I posted the Cat Scan Hist'ry remaster; other than that, you're right, I haven't posted in a while. I mostly post about vidding when I'm actually working on a new project, and that hasn't been since this summer. But I'm hoping to have some time over the holiday break! I have LOTS of projects in mind, but unfortunately my enthusiasm for them does not translate into more hours in the day (or, better yet, more days on the weekend).

Yay! And a huge double yay OMG yes for a new Firefly vid!! That makes me ridiculously happy. I adore the remaster of Thistledown though. It's so shiny! And pretty and I'm still in love with the movement and the song and just everything about it. I really like the new credits too.

I sympathize with you on special effects. The ball/planet thing still looks super cool so I'd say it was worth it. Just take it one at a time and I'm sure you'll be fine :)

Yay for the shiny! I'm especially happy with the re-editing of the music; I know the original song so well that the previous edit always sounded really glitchy to me. This version's much better.

And thank you for the special effects pep talk! I have a few vids coming up where I really want to try to work on those because (whining aside) I do like playing with new toys; I just want to make sure that the effects are necessary and not randomly decorative.

Oh, yay! It is so pretty. It was already pretty, but now it is prettier.

The camera is totally dancing to the music. On that note, I think 2:09-2:13 is my new favorite part.

It IS prettier! Yay!

And yes, I too am fond of the bit with the open door and angry tortured Mal. Don't piss off my captain!
