vid remaster: Window of Opportunity

Jan 07, 2006 13:36

So! The New Computer is up and running, and I've been vidding on it; and in addition to working on new projects, I decided to remaster "Window of Opportunity." I did this largely because the vid was originally made with downloaded source of questionable quality, including bootlegs of the unaired eps that renenet managed to get hold of for me, whereas now ( Read more... )

Oh I'm so excited to see this! Although I might have to wait until after we've finished Wonderfalls. Phooey!

(And your link is broken, there's an 'n' missing: http://www.heresluck.net/videos/window-xvid.zip)

The vid that broke your computer with too much happiness! This is so exciting!

Poor old piece-of-crap computer -- it was such a teenager, all angsty and messed-up. The new one seems much better adjusted. Not that it will need to be, since the next two vids at least are VIDS OF PAIN, and looking at my to-do list it seems likely that at least two of the four after that will be as well. Which surprises no one, I'm sure.

I was all excited to download the remastered version (DivX = YAY!), but the dl link isn't working for me - I get an HTML 404 file to save instead of the vid. Is the vid ever coming back?

*hopeful*

Hmm. It's working fine for me, and apparently for the 18 people who (according to site stats) have dl'ed it this month. You might try the actual site:

http://www.heresluck.net/videos/index.html

...but beyond that I'm not sure what to tell you. Are you using IE or Firefox? (IE sometimes won't let people dl from my site -- no idea why.) Are you right-clicking or left-clicking? It's a .zip file, so left-clicking is okay and sometimes works when right-clicking doesn't.

I'm using Opera. And I did try going directly to the site, and since it's a zip file I tried both styles of clicking, too.

Um. I'm at a loss.

*pokes vid link again*

Maybe it's a . . . I don't know. Jeez, I have no theories, even. But tonight I'm going to try downloading on my not-for-downloading computer and see what happens; it might be my security set up that's screwing this up, for whatever reason, and I figure your site is unlikely to do bad things to the clean computer. (Um. Yes, as embarrassing as it is to admit it, I actually do quarrantine my downloads on a single computer that isn't networked to any of the other computers in the house. I'm stupidly paranoid that way.)

Huh. I just re-attempted to download using Opera, and still had no trouble. Like you, I am theoryless.

Do let me know if it doesn't work, and I can try to send the vid to you some other way.
