I said this already, but I'll say it again. I'm sorry you didn't get the job, because (a.) you wanted it, (b.) you would have been brilliant at it, (c.) your students would have had a wonderful experience, and (d.) I would have gotten to hear you talk about it for a semester--which is an experience I would have treasured.

Well, of course. I'm always talking about *something*. I do think that me geeking about students' reactions to The Monk would probably have trumped me complaining about the yawnfest that is Robinson Crusoe, though. Or snarling about job letters, as is perhaps most likely. :::sigh:::
