Finally, a new vid.

This one's for the movie Donnie Darko. If you've seen the movie, I'm particularly curious to know what you think. If you haven't seen the movie and intend to, I think it's safe to watch the vid; it does (inevitably) contain some spoilers, but the movie is sufficiently complex that I think I've been able to not spoil some pretty

Foreboding! Creepy bunny! Scary bad things besides the bunny! Faster, faster, faster! Yep. Anyone who hasn't seen the movie will do so without question after seeing this.

Sorry for all of the exclamation points. You succeeded in drawing more of a physical reaction from me than an immediate intellectual one. I think that comes after it gets watched another 10 or so times. If the meat for a thoughtful break down of the vid wasn't there, it wouldn't have grabbed me and shaken so hard in the first place. Is that weird sucking thump that you use to intercut scenes in the beginning really in the song, or did you add that? It's fabulous either way. So subtle, but it made those flashes stick in my memory much longer than they did on screen.

I enjoyed this very much. It tickles me crazily to think you have so many more vid ideas on the way. :)

This is exactly what I was after, just so you know. I mean, I hope the vid stands up to thoughtful post-facto scrutiny, but I thought about it in much more strictly visual terms than I usually do. So a purely visceral reaction is fine with me. *g*

No, it's really there -- that weird heartbeat sound. I love it. Interestingly, it's a lot more audible with the flashing images there to emphasize it.

That's it exactly. I swear it's just there because of the flashing. That's why they made the song that way. For your vid. And I must confess to being in awe when I see you do this. :)

Followed the link over from sisabet and I'm in love. Seriously. Darko's one of my favorites and you just nail it in new and amazing ways and I've seen the movie so many times and now I just want to sit down and rewatch all these things I've missed and wow.
