I'm going by my co-op's spelling. Also called a shaddock!
I would've liked to see you this weekend, but going to a con all about something I've never been interested in strikes me as probably not the best way to do it. *g* We'll make some time at VVC, yes?

A shaddock? That sounds like a cross between a fish and a four-leaf clover. It should certainly be green.
Since you've made slashy vids, I assumed you were into slash on some level. Personally, I don't think of myself as a "slasher" -- I'm invested in whatever relationships are interesting to me -- but that doesn't keep me from Escapade. For me, Escapade's about seeing my friends, seeing and showing the vids, and all the glorious meta.

It's a fair assumption. On the other hand, I feel no slash-based kinship with most of the folks I know who are interested in slash pairings, much less the folks who identify as slashers, because more often than not they're all about the boys. I think it's pretty revealing that f/f slash gets designated "femslash"; "slash," without prefix, refers to m/m the vast majority of the time, as far as I can tell.

Which is cool, but if I want to do those things I'll stay home and have friends over for pizza and geekery. I really can't imagine bothering to go to the trouble of attending a con if I didn't care about the con's subject matter; but then going to cons at all requires overcoming a lot of distaste for me anyway. YMMV, as always.

And I missed you over the weekend. I'll never say you shouldn't have been in Chicago, but I do wish you'd been in Oxnard.
