Never let it be said that "The Simpsons" have no redeeming value. After watching the Halloween episode (from Season 2), he's become interested in Edgar Allen Poe. Last night at the library, he checked out a collection of Poe's stories and poems. Right now, I'm listening him to read aloud "The Raven." He's giving a wonderfully dramatic reading, too

It is a good episode, but I think my current favorite is the one where Lisa has a substitute teacher. She is so sweet, I lovelovelove Lisa. Of course, it's important for me to note that I've only watched a fraction of the episodes. We've got the first two seasons, and I've seen an episode here and there over the years. So, I'm sure there are other gems I've yet to discover. The way Connor is eating these up, we'll probably by at least a few more seasons. It is a good show. I just need to keep reminding him that Bart and Homer are comedy; Lisa and Marge are role models. I must keep repeating that before he starts acting TOO much like Bart (and he doesn't have far to go; really, he's pretty Bartesque without any help from the show). :D

The Raven is a great poem, which I don't say lightly because I'm not a big poetry fan. I also like Annabel Lee, which for some reason I memorized at some point in my life.
