Pirate drabble x 2 1/3

Title: Lumination
Rating: PG13 ('tis a bit squicky)
Notes: Set after DMC; speculative, slight spoiler likely. Crossposted to pirategasm and to 100_situations.

Shall blame this one on virgo_79, for she wrote a drabble which got into my head and under my skin and demanded elaboration. Later, she wrote a P3 speculative fic with a setting that captured my imagination. A week or ( Read more... )

This pretty much mirrors my thoughts when I heard about "Davy Jones' Locker" and where they were filming. Poor Jack. :(

Excellently written, though.

Though his corpus was apparently intact (he ran his hands carefully along each limb to be sure), the stains and tears in his clothing substantiated memory’s claims.

What a strange thing this is. And the "undefinable place with its indeterminate white sky meeting nearly featureless white sand" sounds more horrid with every reading.

*shudders*

Poor Jack.

Good thing we know they're going to rescue him.

Very nicely done.

Oh, thank you! It was the endless nothingness of the place that really set its fangs into me - saw this image of a vast, stark and glaring plain with a dark spot which resolved into Jack as the perspective zoomed in.

And yes, it would probably be too horrible to contemplate if we weren't assured of his rescue.

Thanks so much for commenting here - it's always very appreciated!

As I said to geek_mama_2 above, it would be just too awful to think about if we didn't know they were one their way to get him back! Thanks so much for reading and commenting.

Like geek_mama_2 said, it's a good thing, indeed, that we know they are going to rescue him... Both the descriptions of Jack being swallowed (the horrible details of it) and what comes after, that overwhelming whiteness, are really well done, gave me shivers and wrenched at my heart. And, of course, it makes perfect sense that hell would be a place without horizons.

Will offer you a blanket for your shivers and hugs for your wrenched heart, but must tell you that I'm thoroughly delighted by your reaction! No water and no horizons seemed the proper definition of hell from Jack's point of view, but I truly don't think I could have written this if his rescue wasn't assured.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting - I really appreciate it.
