ScrapBook and the new Photo Album service

If you have images stored in Live Journal's Scrapbook albums, then you need to read the latest updates on LJ Pics Beta

In a nutshell, Scrapbook is being replaced by a new photo hosting service, and the two will not be able to co-exist.

The most recent update is in Russian, but if you scroll about half-way down the first page of comments you will see

Thank you for posting about this. I had no idea. Honestly, when I was deciding whether to continue as a paid member, knowing I have photos up on scrapbook helped make my decision. If they delete my photos without warning or an easy way to transition them, there's another reason to stop supporting LJ financially.

You're welcome. I re-posted the latest update (in English) earlier this evening; there's a very useful FAQ, and of course if you have unanswered questions then you can raise them on the comm - they seem very helpful ;)

Yes, I saw that. It sounds like they're going to attempt to transition the photos without us having to do anything. That's my hope anyway! :)
