...hi

I realize that basically since the show went on hiatus back in February(?), I have done nothing but post messages that say that I'm alive and that I have plans to start doing rewatches again soon....

... listen, I don't need to tell you that it's been a weird year.

With the show finishing off in October, I do really want to finish up my S14 ( Read more... )

life, in the works

I've stopped at the beginning of Season 9 and also having a hard time finishing. Maybe one day I will feel like going back to those last 6 seasons. Right now, I'm working on getting myself to finish my WIP. Yay for new things though, and I hope we can continue to share our lives here despite changes.

Good luck with your writing!

I'm hoping to also keep up with people, though I might be slower than before (as witnessed by this year.)

No stress. Well that's not true. I'm in the U.S. after all. I meant to say that I get it. It's not the same magic. I'll be there till the end but my heart is elsewhere. I haven't moved on, I've just been crushed with my recent losses. The trauma of this pandemic just doesn't seem to quit.

I hope the return of the show will offer a nostalgic uplift. They are so familiar to us after all.

Yeah, I think it's dealing with all the external stress of this year that really led me to put the stress that I put on myself to complete projects away, so... hence no projects getting done. I've only worked on projects that only I see, so there is no pressure about posting at certain times, or people expecting things from me.

I think I'll get enthused again in October when new episodes start airing again and we get the run up to the grand finale. I still love the show - it's just more of a passive love than an active one right now.

i'm still watching, and still loving, and i can't wait for them to come back and finish up. it's like when an friend that you haven't seen for a while comes to visit, and all that time just disappears. :)

I'm hoping that I'll feel the same when the new episodes air! I'm sure I'll be excited to see how it all wraps up!

It becomes a task that's a little more "work" than "leisure."

It's hard when that happens. I do hope you regain some of your enjoyment when you resume your rewatch and it's not just a chore, because I selfishly want to read your pointed comments and spot-on summaries :)

How much do you have to pay for hosting for the pictures, though? I thought pictures can just be put on LJ.

I'm sure I'll enjoy it once I start - half the problem with any task is just STARTING it.

I reverted my LJ account back to a free account. The pictures have always been on Photobucket though, mainly because I knew there might come a day when I reverted back to having a free account, and because of the bandwidth used, I have to pay for photobucket now too. Luckily I'm grandfathered into a pretty cheap plan, but still. I'll eventually want to stop using it as well, I think.

totally understandable, it's just so easy to start moving on, and this whole Corona mess hasn't made it easier.
I'm currently slowly moving fully into "The old guard" fandom, and it's hard to get back invested in spn, when TOG is right there...

I got into BTS about a year ago... and well, it's a whole different kettle of fish, because it's music and real people - but they have 7 years of content in which they've practically been filmed every day of their lives, so there is a LOT to distract me from keeping up with my SPN projects... especially when my brain was already set into "time to let this go" mode.

Lucky you, we've only got two hours of footage. But it's just so damn awesome... It's just fun to be part of a fandom and to for once not have to fight all the time (after the racism in tw fandom, it's just nice to be in a fandom that doesn't treat it's characters of color like crap)
And having the main fandom pairing be canon doesn't hurt either.

Yeah, tw was the worst for that... I think because even the writers didn't know how to write their lead.

From what I've seen of TOG it looks awesome!
