[Day 14] Garden (Free Shift)

Feb 19, 2010 06:24

There were still a few splotches of pain spotting here and there on the young Maou's face. Yuuri didn't even notice it, or wouldn't care even if he did, as his mind seemed to be completely absorbed within his thoughts. Sae... she was here and safe, and not only that, but she seemed to remember everything that had happened right up until her ( Read more... )

Painting had been a rather painful journey from one side of that large building to another. He had motivated himself only long enough to get the job done and then had gone back to leaning on his long paintbrush handle before the guards had unhelpfully shoved him to get to the garden for some rest. He needed more than a rest really, but he was successful in his late trudge to where the garden was ( ... )

He didn't need to look over to know that the ex-General was smiling, and it seemed that he had pleased the silver-haired man. It seemed that the promise made was an aspect that Sephiroth was holding onto, and it was good to know. He couldn't let that down, and he was determined to get everyone home.

"My hero," he gently mused, his eyes still closed but enjoying the chance for some down time. "If we stay in, what would you like to do?"

Sephiroth sounded an amused huff at the softly mused words. He was hardly looking to return to such a status, but if it was to help protect Cloud, then he would return to such a position purely for the blonde.

"We can do whatever we desire," His voice was low, and he kept his attention to the area surrounding them. "Although," Glancing down from the corner of his eyes, he softly murmured, "If your system remains filled with this sedative, sleep might be best for you."

That was true, though he couldn't just leave Aerith out there waiting for them. He had to make certain that she was safe before he could even consider taking the night off to recover himself. Besides, he wasn't expecting to still be fighting off the effects of the medication this long after his initial treatment. They obviously were trying to make a point or something.

"I... wouldn't want to miss the entire night while sleeping," he murmured and glanced up at Sephiroth. "It'd be boring for you to watch over me while sleeping. Besides... don't you think we could think of something to do?"

His attention remained fixated on the area surrounding him, but Sephiroth's gaze shifted over to regard Cloud. He heard the words well enough, but he still felt his eyes widen subtly at the insinuation behind the words.

"Oh?" A slender brow rose up in question before he shook his head and chuckled lightly, "I'm certain we can think of something should you find yourself waking after sleeping the sedative off."

Cloud was hoping that the sedative wouldn't be in effect for that long, but it was hard to say. He would have to force himself to eat something in order to get things moving, but he wasn't certain that would work. He couldn't let his priorities go by the wayside either, but a night as a break would be nice to let his injuries heal up some.

"It better not be affecting me by the time the nightfall comes," he murmured and shifted his head so that he could lay it against Sephiroth's shoulder. It was comfortable there, and he settled in as if to sleep. "However... if you want, I can watch over you while you sleep," he said, a hint of teasing in his voice.

He felt his eyes slip closed when Cloud's head came to rest against his shoulder. There was a moment of debate at the back of his mind, but it was pushed aside as he moved his hand up to support the back of the blonde's head.

"Watch over me?" A slender brow rose up in question at the teasing words, but Sephiroth chuckled lightly and shook his head subtly, "I would be completely at your mercy."

The action from the silver-haired man had him relaxing regardless of the aching in his body. He just enjoyed the moment for a few seconds and silently settled a hand on Sephiroth's thigh in a simple affection gesture. There was nothing more that he could offer, not yet willing to be as bold as Sephiroth.

"You're always completely at my mercy," he replied with a bit of a smirk on his lips. "I can do whatever I like with you... and you wouldn't complain, would you? As long as it was me."

Sephiroth's attention shifted down to the touch on his thigh. The gesture was rather unexpected, and the sight of it left him quietly in thought. While Cloud wasn't always forthcoming with such signs, Sephiroth still enjoyed it regardless.

"I hardly see anything wrong with that," He muttered quietly before turning his face to nuzzle the side of the blonde's head, "You know that I would do whatever you desired of me."

"I knew that you wouldn't," Cloud replied with a bit of a smile himself. He sighed softly when he felt the brief nuzzling to his face and leaned subtly into the gesture. Sephiroth had always been more bold in public about them being together, and it was showing through now.

"Really? That's a lot of power. I hope I won't have to abuse it," he murmured teasingly, but his eyes had closed again. He made a soft sound and settled in again as if about to sleep against the ex-General.

He briefly caught sight of the smile curving on Cloud's lips before it disappeared. There was little doubt within his mind that the blonde would dislike such a thought, and the small gesture shown was enough to tell him that much.

"Somehow I doubt that you will," Sephiroth softly muttered while he regarded Cloud quietly. There was still quite some time left before their momentary freedom was taken from them. He could always allow the blonde to get a short rest in now to help aid in his recovery, then there was more of a chance that Cloud would be more able once the night fell.

He knew that he would never abuse his power unless it was for the benefit of them both. Sephiroth had finally found some kind of freedom with him, even if it came at binding the ex-General to him. He knew well of what would happen if he ever betrayed Sephiroth's trust, and he would never do that. He would never forgive himself if he did.

"Tell me something fun..." he murmured against Sephiroth's shoulder, a little sigh escaping his nose. "Tell me what you are looking forward most for when we go home to Gaea," he said, pressing his face into Sephiroth's neck in comfort and to block out the light from hitting his closed eyes.

Just when he thought that the blonde had drifted off to sleep, Sephiroth found himself somewhat surprised by the soft murmur against his shoulder. Glancing down wide-eyed at Cloud, Sephiroth found his mind drawing a blank at the question asked of him.

Something... fun? Such thoughts had never even entered his mind, and the ex-General found it impossible to come up with an answer.

"I... haven't thought that far ahead," He muttered in admittance. There was an odd sense of shame filling him at being unable to say anything, and it was a sense that only amplified at the press against his throat. "Nothing outside of being with you has entered my thoughts after we return."

The long pause made him think that Sephiroth wasn't certain what to say. He supposed that it was an unfair question given that they hadn't been able to go back to Gaea yet, but he was looking forward to it. Maybe it was just the drugs talking?

His hand gently slid along Sephiroth's thigh, curling over the silver-haired man's waist affectionately. The action was blocked by his body leaning heavily on Sephiroth, but he knew that Sephiroth would notice it. "That's fun," he murmured and allowed a small brush of his lips against Sephiroth's throat. "We can do a lot when we're home."

The slow move of Cloud's hand instantly drew Sephiroth's attention before his eyes slid closed. How long had it been since he'd last experienced this form of closeness? Far too long, in his opinion, and the ex-General found himself craving it.

"More than what is safe to act on here," He softly murmured while brushing his lips across Cloud's temple. Shifting his other down and around, Sephiroth wordlessly ran the palm of his hand down along the length of Cloud's thigh, "What are you looking forward to most of all?"

They were rather restricted on what they could do in this place, but they still got by with much. They could find weapons, travel together with the rest of their companions and be more or less successful on their chosen endeavours. Still, they were just trapped in this prison playing at the whims of the warden for whatever purpose.

He sighed at the brief contact to his thigh and thought seriously about the question. Somehow, the answer came easily to him. "Freedom," he murmured. "The freedom to choose what I want and where I'll go. I want my freedom back to live my life as I see fit."
