[Day 13] Cafeteria (Breakfast)

Dec 09, 2009 00:19

The guards had stormed into his room the night before and had hauled himself and Cloud off to the infirmary. Of course they had shocked him into unconsciousness, but it hardly took a genius to figure that part out. The events of the previous night had unsettled Sephiroth far more than he would have liked. His inability to keep control of himself ( Read more... )

Yuuri hadn't caught sight of either Cloud or Wolfram in the showers, and it left him feeling a horrible sensation of panic within. He'd seen how injured Cloud had been the night before, and if something had happened to his friend, the young Maou wasn't sure what to think.

Had he let people down again?

The thought had him pushing passed the last couple of prisoners as he rushed into the cafeteria. Where they here?

Dark eyes searched desperately around the large cafeteria as Yuuri tried to find any sight of his friends. He couldn't any familiar blonde prisoners anywhere, and the thought left him cold inside. He'd failed them, hadn't he?

Aaaaah what he wouldn't give to have Wolfram nagging him right now.

Eric was still in a rather foul mood after leaving the showers. It was fortunate for that human that he hadn't been bothered. Injuries always left the vampire hungrier than usual, and he didn't want to have to resort to feeding in broad daylight. There were guards around constantly, and it would be difficult to keep it out of sight.

As he entered the cafeteria, Eric was instantly glad that the food this morning was not as foul smelling as yesterday. He could ignore the scent completely, since his senses were dulled by the prison. This was another fact that irked him, but he kept his expression level as he moved further into the room.

However, there was what looked like a young human boy blocking his way. He looked like he'd lost his puppy or something by the way his eyes were frantically searching the room. The boy was lucky he was so young, or Eric would have simply pushed him out of the way.

"Lose something?" he muttered, a hint of sarcasm in his tone.

Yuuri was beginning to get a horrible feeling in the pit of his stomach when he couldn't find either Wolfram or Cloud. There didn't even seem to be any blonde people in the cafeteria!

Bringing a hand up to his chest, Yuuri bit his lower lip in concern before he tried moving off to search the tables row by row. He barely even begun to move his muscles before he found himself pausing at the sound of another prisoner's voice.

Peering back over his shoulder, the look of worry instantly changed into awe as he caught sight of the tall man standing behind him.

"OOoowaaah," He sounded, eyes widening. Blinking twice, it took a few moments for his thoughts to catch up. Yuuri shook his head and attempted to smile, "Aaah yeah, I can't find Cloud or Wolfram."

Eric couldn't help but raise a brow at the young man's strange reaction to the sight of him. It was true that he usually intimidated people (especially humans), but the look in this boy's eyes seemed more awe and surprise than any type of fear. Interesting.

He waited while the boy's face caught up with his thoughts. Eric didn't recognize the two names he spouted off, and he found it somewhat humorous that the boy thought he was trying to help or something. The vampire thought he could play along, for now.

"Can't say that I know them," he said smoothly. "What do they look like?"

Her shower had been incredibly uneventful, and that left Aerith optimistic about the day. Cloud had seemingly skipped out on showering, and she hoped that that meant that his burns had been healed by the people of the prison. It was the least they could do for putting them through such hardships.

Hurrying to the cafeteria, Aerith was pleasantly surprised with breakfast. It was light, but it would do, and she grabbed a bowl and some juice before taking her tray to a nearby table.

The Cetra knew that she probably looked terrible, with the ugly dark bruise creeping out of her jumpsuit along her neck, but it was nothing compared to the rest of it, which was safely hidden beneath the yellow fabric now that the showers were over. Her chest was sore (her ribs were likely bruised), but it was easy enough to ignore as long as she didn't exert herself too much.

Aerith was quiet as she began to eat her breakfast. Who knew, perhaps she might even meet some nice new people today? A girl could hope, right?

Armand had kept his tongue behind his teeth when the vampire had showered next to him. His own thoughts were still too tired and muddled to manage a battle of wits, much less a possible physical struggle, guards or not. He knew perfectly well that the victims of violence were punished just as severely as the perpetrators ( ... )

Aerith glanced up at the sound of someone sitting down near her. She immediately recognized him, and she grinned happily. It was always good to see that her friends had made it through the night. Apparently, he had eventually recovered from that gas attack as well, since he wasn't laughing uncontrollably any longer.

The Ancient gave him a nod, glad that he'd remembered her. "Good morning, Armand," she said, greeting him with a grin. "I'd love the company."

Tilting her head to the side, Aerith looked him over. He seemed well enough, and that was good. "How are you doing?" she asked. "Feeling better?"

He was relieved she didn't mind, and even seemed happy to see him. He smiled then, showing his teeth. He started breaking up the dry toast to eat a bit before he spoke.

"Oh, I am much better. I didn't much like not being able to explain what happened." His scrutiny of her had already shown her to be in a wretched state. "I wonder if I should dare ask what happened to you?"

Apparently ending up the in cell of another prisoner twice was a big 'no-no' in this place. He didn't see why, since they all had to be in prison cells regardless of what was going on outside. Who cared that he happened to be in a completely different wing then he was supposed to be? Really, if he had swapped outfits, they probably wouldn't have noticed ( ... )

The commotion the guards made when they dragged Cloud in unavoidably drew the ex-General's attention. His eyes narrowed at the extra bruising the blonde was displaying, and it reminded him well of the near-scorch marks wrapped around his throat for when he'd been shocked into unconsciousness.

Still, now was hardly the time to act on the rage he felt within as he forced his cold gaze to shift back onto Cloud. He looked a wreck, and Sephiroth found himself having to close his eyes to will away the emotions running rampant within.

"It seems as though they were hardly gentle on you last night," Sephiroth quietly muttered while his right hand shifted out to subtly brush against Cloud's left arm.

[Cloud has a Sephiroth~ Also, LJ notices are screwing up again T____T]

Groaning again as the coolness of the table pressed against his aching jaw, Cloud just lay unmoving for a little while. He was pretty certain that anaesthetic induced sleep was not the most restful, and he hadn't had much beyond that anyway. He was tired, but maybe it was possible to sleep in duty shift? Nah, he could suck it up, he decided.

At the familiar voice, he opened his cat eyes to peer over at the silver-haired man. He hadn't even perceived Sephiroth's closeness, but he hadn't been all that alert to do so either. Regardless, a slow purposeful grin appeared on his lips before it faded again so that he could just rest. "It... was so worth it," he said with a mild undertone of cheer.

"Lookin' good this morning," he commented and gave Sephiroth a wink before closing his eyes. "What's for breakfast?"

The short-lived grin he received from Cloud drew a soft smile from Sephiroth. While the damage was something he wasn't terribly fond of seeing, it was good to see that Cloud was still there. Bringing up his hand to lightly brush the back of his fingers over Cloud's cheek, he found himself softly muttering, "Aa, but that doesn't mean that I enjoy seeing you this way."

Sephiroth's gaze shifted over to regard the trays on the other table. It appeared as though it was some form of savoury breakfast, and as he glanced over towards the breakfast line, he murmured, "It appears to be cereal and toast."

Having taken a reluctant shower and met Tassadar, 11-12 still didn't quite comprehend where he was and what state he was in - it would be difficult to believe that this was any more real than his normal existance, which had felt just as real as this but hadn't been at all what it seemed to be.

He followed the other prisoners to the cafeteria and wrinkled his nose upon arrival. It certainly didn't smell very appetising in here and 11-12 felt some nausea well up in him. He had to stop by the wall, his hand out to support himself and hugging his stomach with his other arm, hoping the sick feeling would pass.

Waltzing in within late fashionableness, a pair of mismatched eyes settled on the form that was off to the side. A black sheep. Maybe a play thing? It was terribly boring in this place, and, with his brother occupied, he was less interested in finding out about the slop they were being forced to consume for another day.

No, no, no... little baa-baa black sheep was off all alone. Easy prey, easy kill, easy-pleasy with some sugar on top.

The young traitor walked over to where the black sheep looked to be in pain and stopped just behind. He had to try his hardest not to allow a demented smirk appear on his lips, but instead feigned some manner of concern. "Little black sheep not feeling good? Don't stray from the herd, you know. Wolves pick up on weakness here."

11-12's face looked very pale, drained of colour, as he turned his head to see someone talking to him. He heard the words as if through a filter. They were comprehensible but sounded distant.

He eyed the man warily. He didn't like the way he was looking at 11-12 or the words he'd said.

"Wolves? Are you one of the dangers I'm being warned about?"

Baa-baa black sheep was looking like a meal already, and the boy wasn't even gutted open. All the little lambs should be careful with themselves or the men in wolf's skins would find them. There would be nothing but the strong and the cunning left, but poor little black sheep was ill.

Grinning in a way that was not quite sane, the dark haired youth winked with his golden eye while the blue remained fixed on the dirty blonde. He gestured with open hands for the other young man to stand up straight. "Up straight now. Bleat like you mean it, black sheep. Don't want to stand out in the herd."

He pointed over his shoulder to where the fat man of the perverts was sitting. "He's a wolf sharpening his fangs. He likes to eat the legs out from under all the little sheep. Show weakness, and he'll gobble you up, little lamb."
