Day 65 - Call to All

May 31, 2011 19:56

I find myself in dire need of someone with skill in the repair of prosthetic limbs.

Or an entirely new one, either or.

[Snake had an unfortunate and embarrassing run-in with a monster. He's not looking forward to explaining to Clover the fact that his fake arm has been slightly mangled. Emphasis not on slightly.]

Is it robotic?

No. It's articulated at the shoulder, elbow, and wrist, but no true robotics.

Ah. Well then I'm of no help.

I was an electronics major, so if it was robotic I probably could have taken a look.

I suppose it's the thought that counts. Thank you, anyway.

What the hell did you do? [Because shit, man, that arm weighed a ton.]

In the simplest terms? I had a lapse in judgment, and I needed an improvised weapon.

Seriously? You didn't have any other shit you could use? [Is ignoring the fact that he hurt his leg through a similar lapse in judgment not so long ago.]

I was a bit pressed for time. When in a pinch, a false limb makes a surprisingly handy weapon.

[Oh, yes, we're skipping right to the good part.]

I have been firmly educated that going outdoors is a poor idea.

[OH YES IS THAT ALL?!]

... and that's good, now what did you do you big idiot!?

[...OKAY, he'll continue.]

I was fooled. They tried to lure me out by sounding like someone in distress, and like an idiot, I fell for it, yes.

Depending on the functions and its abilities, I could assist in its repair. There is someone here that does know of robotics, having his own suit; however, I would have to check to see if he was still here.

It's a simple prosthetic, articulated but with no robotic function. I'm afraid I'm a bit too poor to manage something really fancy.

Hmm...well, I'll take a look. I'm no expert, but I'm certainly willing to try.

That would be dearly appreciated. I'm a little handicapped without it, unfortunately.
