I dunno how I feel about Peta. I guess in their minds the ends justify the means... but some (most) of the stuff I've seen from them is just ridiculous.
I don't mean to offend you, and I know i'll be alone on this, but I just don't see eating meat as justifiable. The bottom line is that a living thing is born, raised, and killed in captivity because we like how it tastes.
well if there was a life form more intelligent and powerful than human beings and wanted to eat us in order to keep their systems healthy and survive, then we would have to accept that too. it's the circle of life and it exists for a reason.
I see meat as not even needing to be justified. We're omnivors, it's what we eat. Sarah's right too. It's the nature of life that organisms die to sustain other organisms. Plus the way livestock it being kept is constantly trying to be bettered, if only so it can be marketed as "free range" so they can charge more. And realistically we need a protein source and we're just not meant to run on soy product.
I mean good for you for your beliefs about meat, it's a personal choice, but I just can't say there's anything wrong with growing livestock for food.
Breton, the ends of PETA is absolute insanity, the organization has no knowledge off biology, zoology or ethnology. Which basically means they have no idea what animals do or how they live, they just have a hard on for people not using animals. They don't even condone the use of animals as pets, so ask yourself, what is a happier puppy? One on the street, or one in a loving home? Keep in mind dogs and cats were bred to be domesticated
