Ranting

Okay, am currently a little annoyed, since the computer has decided to mess with my Radiohead CD and keeps skipping. Grr! Especially since I'm a total Radiohead mood, and I want to listen to the bloody songs! Argh!

You know, I managed to watch the new Prisoner of Azkaban trailer, and, although it looks great, the more of the trailers I see, the ( Read more... )

Re PoA - The trailers look great, as trailers usually do. I think that I'll enjoy the film if I can forget that it's actually (supposed to be) based on the book. And Thewlis is not Lupin. Doesn't matter what anyone says...

As for the kids, I don't think I'll ever be happy so long as I'm comparing them to the books.

I just kept pressing that button every time he appeared on the screen!

*in stitches from laughing* *g*

You see, before I didn't really have any issues with them, but now I think I might do. I don't know. Maybe I was just in a funny mood at the time.

Speaking of actors, someone mentioned to me (in a review - I love reviews!) that Sean Biggerstaff was in PoA - the film. I think I may have to go and investigate that. That will definitely cheer me up! *g*

I think HP & PoA [the film] will probably grow on me. Chamber of Secrets has definitely done that, as has Philosopher's Stone, which I thought was far too long and a bit dull initially. Fingers crossed it does.

As for DA in the Secret Craft, he was the best bit of the movie! Honestly, it's like one of those fics you were talking about - good idea, but pretty lousy execution! When I was capping it, I realised that they used this camera technique that involved a lot of camera swaying. I hadn't noticed it when I watched the film, which I suppose was the point, but because I was just looking ( ... )

*dies laughing* I love your reactions to DA. *g*

I can understand your reaction to him laughing etc. It's really odd, when an actor plays a character that acts completely different to the character you know him as.

It was a little odd, especially since he looked pretty much how he did in Alias - Season 1 (minus the tank top and the stupid trousers/shorts!). After that, I watched some Season One Alias, and that was weird as well! I kept expecting Sark to laugh and point at someone! *g*

Yeah, I have serious issues with comaring them to the books (as you all know! LOTR, I was awful!), but at the same time, am really looking forward to it. Lupin is all wrong, though. Nothing against David Thewlis, but nope. Definately not.

I know what you mean about capping. I currently have every scene Jonas is in! Well, that's not true...yet! ;) I only started capping at ep 10 or 11. I have three eps done, and I went back to do Nightwalkers, but haven't finished yet. Ah, am in love. Hel, might even be willing to let you have more of DA now and then, just so I can spend more time with Corin Nemec! ;)

Seeing as notasalmon gave him to you without asking my permission! (Currently, I've just got Chris Masterson, since he and DA were on rotation!)

I think I could cope with giving up some Corim for some DA. In fact, I don't have to think about it! *g* Gimme, gimme, gimme!

[ This is one of those posts that I said I wouldn't do anymore, in case any of us get famous and this comes out into the open! Oh well, never mind!

But, just in case: David, honestly, I'm not a scary stalker fangirl that wants you to go to prom with her. (Definitely not, since don't have a prom, and if I had had one, I would probably feel a little stupid going on the arm of someone, no matter how good-looking, I didn't know!) Honestly, I'm just a loyal fan. :) ]

Did that sound believable?

Lol!

Well, put it this way, I wouldn't leap on him as soon as I met him! Gods, I wouldn't want to scare him totally!

I'm not going to say anymore, in case I incremenate myself! *g*

Oh, and D&D, did that a while ago. I did it more than once, but the main one (the correct one), I think I was a Chaotic Evil Rogue (just like my actual character!), but I can't remember what race I was. I was either a half-elf, or a gnome...

I doubt I would recognize the rules anymore, being the last time I played was about the time you ladies (Ky & Hel) were born. It was an every weekend, and sometimes nightly event, and we had a great Middle Earth'ish event going. One weekend we set camp before entering some spiderholes and... 20 years later we are still camped there. A couple guys couldn't make it one weekend, then something else was happening the next, and we just went on with life. I did find the figurines and books and our GM and maps and stuff in dad & moms attic about a year ago, and it brought back lots of memories. Would be cool to get into again... if only there was time.

I may have to go through and write the annals from the maps and notes and what I can remember. Would make a good story.

kyizi was the one that got me into it. Before, I had known a couple of people who did it, but the idea of rolling dice to get you out of trouble just didn't appeal to me. I much prefered the role-playing that we do, making stuff up as you go along.

But then Ky persuaded me, and I'm kinda into it now. The only problem is that we're the only two around here that are interested! Makes for boring RP! *g*

Yes it does. Thats why I try and get into this RP stuff online, but it seems that most people are really anal about stuff. I miss the chemistry we all seemed to have back in the heyday of tolkienonline. Legolas the Elf and I were talking about that when we were talking on the phone the other day....

Cool character Hel! If I were to put Halasian (Shadow over Arnor) into a D&D catagory, it would be Chaotic Neutal??? He was a guy who did bad things for the cause of good (usually) ;)

Lol! I have to say, that my D&D character bears more than a passing resemblance to Heliona and Almarian! *g*

:-) Thats cool. I have so many characters, and they all seem to gravitate toward men of Arnor. I guess that part of Middle Earth intrigues me the most. I have Halasian, his sons Hayna and Hanasian, of which I have further developed, his sister whom I have given different names but haven't developed yet, Forcwyn, Halasian's wife. I also have Silvanis, which is a general development character that goes by the moniker of Snowdog. He was a culmination of several pieces of characters i had oput together outside Tolkien and I used it for RP on TO. I have also a Ranger of Ithilien, who was Faramirs second in command, and ironicly, the elder Ranger that gets piked in RotK movie was a good representation of him, and I wondered if PJ stole my notes ;). I also have two half-brother characters, offspring of a Khandese whore. The elder is Easterling-Khandese, and the other is Southron-Khandese. The first is in Saurons army but has a buried seed of good in him. The other is pure evil of the evilist sort. Anyway.. I'm rambling.

See, your characters are more interesting than mine.

Heliona started off so boring, and it was only thanks to Thorondor that she got any background at all!

Almarian was quite inspired, though! (Although I still don't know about the whole Elvish thing that other people saw in her - I'm going to have to make something up about that!)

One of my characters that saw the light of day briefly was called Aleandra, who was quite interesting, but the thread died a death, and I never had the opportunity to re-introduce her.

Rhia (in Freedom) was sort of an extension of a character in an original story of mine, as was Luca, although obviously they were adapted for Middle-Earth!

*sigh* I miss them!
