I did something today that I've never done since I've been in the UK. I went exploring around Shepard's Bush/East Acton to see just what sort of Antipodean atmosphere the area has. I know what you mean ~smiles~
I spent Saturday night with my South African friends watching the rugby and nothing beats being with people who you share so much with.
I sometimes miss home (more so now that I know I'm going for a holiday in January) but mostly for the scenery and people.
But I'm mostly happy here and I know I could never live back in SA. However, thinking about checking out Nz.

OMG I haven't been to the Redback in AAAAGES!

I've only been past the Redback, but I keep seeing ads for stuff going on and keep meaning to go there. What's it like?

We used to go quite a bit on a Sunday night in the Summer.
They used to do a free BBQ out back in the garden, and have really good drinks specials.
Then at about 6-7pmish everyone gets ushered indoors and they used to have pretty good cover bands, and then played cheesey but good old tunes.

I've heard they have some good bands on at times too.
Friendly atmosphere, but quite drunken :)
