Orestes From The Getty Villa

In a previous post, I mentioned having gone to the Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades a few weeks ago.  In the exhibit room dedicated to the Trojan War, I photographed the fragments of a Greek silver belt from 540-530 B.C. whose plaques told the stories of epic heroes.  There's Zeus defeating Typhon, Perseus fleeing the Gorgons, Athena assisting ( Read more... )

It's Greek work, from 540-530 B.C.
