Jan 01, 2012 15:38

For

rorylie

This fic was supposed to be a short piece, and I don't know what happened, but it snowballed into this. I hope you like it!

If all your love was wasted, then who the hell was I?
Lexie/Alex (hints of past Lexie/Mark, Lexie/Jackson, and Alex/Izzie)
Rated - R (just to be safe)

It's not Mark's new girlfriend that sets her off... )

show: grey's anatomy, pairing: lexie/alex, secret santa

Oh, WOW!!!!

THIS! I want this on my screen.

I know it was for rorylie (who will cry when she reads this, btw!), but it was totally for me too! Haha! And I say that only because it is everything (EVERYTHING!) that I love in an Alex/Lexie fic.

Dysfunction. Understanding. Truth. Lust. Anger. Clarity.

This is actually flawless.

Thank you SO MUCH for writing/sharing it for me rorylie!!

You're too sweet! I'm glad you liked it! I really wrestled a lot with how to write this, had a short little fic, then continued adding and adding to it until I had this huge tangle of angst and dysfunction. I love dark-Lexie and I love, love, love what Alex and Lexie seem to bring out in one another, so I was really excited about writing this, but extremely nervous about how it turned out.

I'm SO glad you enjoyed it! Coming from you, this is quite a compliment!

I hope rorylie loves this as much as you do! ♥

Ah, that's just so gorgeously WRONG. Actually, this story makes me want the doooomed Alex/Lexie back on screen, of course with Mark having to suffer how damaged and glorious they all are, with all their shared scars, oh my heart. ♥ Alex makes so much more sense for Lexie than Jackson. So, so much. I really love the parallels you pointed out.

And I would love to see something like this relapsing dad storyline for Lexie. It's so sad that the show seems to have no idea what to do with this amazingly complex Lexie character. Could you please go brief them? :-)

It's so sad that the show seems to have no idea what to do with this amazingly complex Lexie character. OR ALEX! Therefore, the only solution can be THIS *points to fic*!!!

Too often the show falls into the trap of using Lexie for comedic relief and I think it really, REALLY undermines her potential. That whole episode where she was racing around without her security tag and setting off alarms and just... given everything she went through on the day of the shooting, it was actually kind of disgusting to watch.

Some respect please, writers.

Also, HI!! It's been agessssss!

Some respect please, writers.

Well, that just says it all! I agree, they're at a loss for what to do with Alex also. And it's such a shame. I hate that there was never any aftermath to the initial breakup between Lexie and Alex or Lexie and the shooting...it just shifted right back to Lexie and Mark. I mean, Lexie and Alex live together...we're just supposed to assume they got over it? It was very unsatisfying.

I 100% completely blame the STUPID time jump. SO MUCH happened in those 8 weeks that we simply had to infer. Some of it wasn't even really hinted at in canon. We just had to put pieces together in the aftermath and hope that it somehow made some kind of sense.

Unfortunately, in many cases, it really didn't.

I mean, when did Alex and Lexie even break up? Was it prior to her breakdown? During? After? Did they ever actually, formally break up? And then, when/how did they get back to being friends again? And that's not even touching on the other characters...!

Gah. This topic. It never gets old! Haha!

You're welcome, you're welcome, you're welcome! I'm so glad you liked this! I have to admit, I was a little intimidated when I saw I was writing for you, because you write Alex and Lexie so well. I was really nervous about how you would feel about this and I'm so happy you liked this!

Ok. FINE.

I didn't hate Lexie in this fic.

That I'll even read a fic with her in it speaks to waltzmatildah's bad influence.

MyAlex....LOVE HIM in this. And always.

I enjoyed this.

Wow! I'm glad you didn't hate Lexie in this :)

Thanks so much for reading, especially since you're not a Lexie fan. I'm really happy you enjoyed this!

Yes, I am spending my Friday night trawling old faves, what of it?!

But, HA. One of my crowning GA glories remains my convincing of you that fic!Lexie, and fic!Lexie/Alex was something you could "enjoy".
